Double check what Excal says about their excel string and standard string.
There is a difference. Standard string is made with dacron and is primarily for the older bows, while the excel string is limited to mag tip limbs.

Re: New Excel string question
Take a look at the accessories link on this site and click on strings. You will get the answer about dacron and excel strings. The excel string can only be used on mag tip limbs and not the older carved tip limbs, which can only use a dacron string. I believe the excel string is refering to the Brow...

Re: POI between field points & Bolt Cutters?
Take a white out pen and mark the string on eitherside, close to the rail.
When you cock the bow use the dots to keep the string centerd. There are no guarantees that POI will be the same with any field point/broadhead. If you can get good groups with the bolt cutters, that's all that matters.

Re: Applying new vanes
If you READ the manufacturers instructions, you will be off to a better start and longer lasting solution. NAP has a great explanation on the back of their packaging. Save yourself time, agravation, and money by doing the correct combo of prep and glue. You can probably find the info on their websit...

FOC is important when shooting carbon arrows. 18 to 20 or so percent is less of a factor if your tail feathers are not working to their full potential.

Re: Not real happy, just picked up the Equinox
The bottom lione is to stabilize the arrow. For a quick fix get quik fletch or shrink fletch with quik spin vanes. Problem solved or start putting your own vanes on. The stock vanes are your nemisis. Yes there are other variables but cut to the chase and do youself a favor with better vanes. Better ...

Re: Old eyes and cross hairs
Most scopes can be adjusted to focus the cross hairs. Turn the end of the scope nearest your eye until it gives you a crisper image. Some have a lock ring and others
don't. Hope that helps a bit.

Re: HOLY crap fps...
Sounds like you're really lucky or something does'nt quite add up. First you need to be at least an arrows length away from the chrony. I have the same model. If its too bright you need the diffusers on top so the sensors are reading correctly. The unit itself may be just plain wrong. Do you have an...

Re: A Couple Techie Questions
Try twisting the nock. Pulling straight out probably won't work. Some are a little harder than others but twisting works for me.

Re: A Couple Techie Questions
Put flat nocks on. It's an easy switch. There is no glue involved, so just a twist with some pliers and you're good to go. If the string is not exactly centered in the moon nock, it will either push down or up on the nock when firing. Not good. Also Excalibur says to use flat nocks.

Re: Firebolts...how many times can you fletch?
It's all in the prep. If you use superglue use only water to clean the shaft. You can still scrape and sand but only water after that. No cleaning of the vanes is needed. Go to NAP web site and find the help tech area for a better explanation. Some cleaners will cause a chemical reaction with the gl...
