Re: Do You Use Deer Decoy's?

The above statement is very simple and makes alot of sense!

Re: Lost Another One

I don't think 45 yards is even for those that practice the most. A deer can do too much in the time it takes for a bolt to travel that distance. IMHO it is an unethical shot to take. Agree Most of us have made this mistake....learn from it and wisdom will help refrain from long shots...after all we...

Re: Lost Another One

Thanks for the replies. That's the longest shot I've ever taken. Checked it with my rangefinder. I figure I got a little impatient because I was losing light. I should have let her pass. All my shots in the past have been under 25 yards. I lost one shooting from the ground and this one and another ...

Young Lad's First Deer Harvest...with PICS

My hunting buddy's son took this deer last night from a double stand with his father...a seasoned crossbow hunter. This fella is 12 years old and completed his hunter safety apprenticeship program just a few weeks ago here in Ontario. He practiced his shooting with Dad's trusty excal a few days ago ...

Re: Crossbow questions

Do not forget about the Phoenix....175 lb draw...plenty for deer and easier on you and your string if you want to shoot it often. I was in your position last year when I started to bowhunt and purchased my bow very late in the season. I have taken 7 deer with the Phoenix since then and have no regre...

WTG Pydpiper....I knew that you would succeed!! I read almost every post on here from Oct-Sept and I do think you are the only one who sat in stands as many times as I did this past season!

Enjoy your well deserved venison....this is special.

P.S....awesome grouse harvest RJ...I am jealous!

Re: Well how well did you do?

My 2nd year bowhunting and I filled 4 additional archery tags with my phoenix...2 does, 1 fawn and a spike buck. I hunt 2 properties...one was almost void of deer(my producer last year) and on the new property I had 4 different stands that each produced 1 deer for me.....this was very rewarding. I h...
