Re: A Better Stirrup

I'm playing around with a rope stirrup right now and find it's better than the stock one because you don't have to twist your back out of line so much... being flexible, the rope (and your foot) can be moved to the right more. I'll make up a T-shaped steel stirrup later today, shouldn't take long a...

Re: Southern Ohio Turn'n the Snow Red, ON THE VERY LAST ONE!

That's pretty much how my life has been. i've been self employed as a sailing specialist and then sailmaker since 1985..... In a state which is NOT a hotbed of sailing!!! Times are tough every winter, and I'll probably never be able to retire. I turned 60 on Dec 4th and I must say that was a pshycol...

Re: A Better Stirrup

Man..... Those would have to be some strong legs on either side of the "T" with nothing supporting the open end!

Re: Still antlered in Arkansas, round 4

Same thing goes for the Trail's End 307. All I smell in it is oil of Anis, but there are other ingredients. They really do like the stuff, and will spend a long time with their noses stuck right into the shrub, bush or pine where I apply it. GREAT shooting opportunities! :D

Re: Still antlered in Arkansas, round 4

Ken, i have many videos of bucks tending scrapes that I've doctored and not doctored. Either way, they REALLY get animated when working the licking branch(es), but when I doctor them up with Rack Rub, they spend more time and seem to lose focus on anything else for that time. Kinda like dope!!! :sho...

Re: Still antlered in Arkansas, round 4

Hey VM. Your post got me thinking about a video I got in late January of a buck that had already dropped. He may not have had anything left to rake branches with, but he was using the licking branch over this scrape like a 4 year old trying to get to the gummy center of a lollypop! :D http://s472.ph...

Re: Two more videos for your viewing pleasure

Not bad for $69.99 at Wallyworld. Still the extra money for the Blackout Flash is money damn well spent! This scrape is only 100 yards or so from a major state highway. There's a 4-5" cedar about the same distance south of there and 50 yards from the highway that was torn to shreads. Across the...

Re: Two more videos for your viewing pleasure

This one is the El Cheapo "Crush" from Wild Game Innovations. My other three are called "Blade". They have the Blackout flash and a few more bells and whistles in the programming than the Crush. They are $89.99 at Bass Pro. I will NEVER buy another camera without the Blackout fla...

Two more videos for your viewing pleasure

I got these two in October 2013 at a different WMA (public land) than the others I've been posting. Neither is an old deer, and IMHO, no more than 3.5. This area is permit only, period, and I didn't draw one for this season, as our season is still open in Arkansas. That SUCKED, because both of these...

Re: Matrix 380 and 355 draw questions.

You can shorten the cocking rope so that you don't have to pull so high to get cocked. I have mine set so that I have to pull the string back/up about 3" before I can get the second hook on the string. I think you'll be fine. Remember: the cocking aid has a 2:1 pulley on each side of the rail. ...

Re: CrossBows And Hand Climbing TreeStands

I lean mine against my climbing tree, stirrup down, then tie around the top of the stock, through the hand hole and back up. It's placed far enough around the tree that IF I ever did fall AND have a safety strap/harness fail, I wouldn't land on it.
