Re: Dusting Off My Ol' Ibex!

Definitely check out the Micro Axe. It is a very nice compact crossbow. It is now known as the Mag. If you can post some pics of your hunt, I would love to see it and am sure a lot of other hunters here would enjoy it. I watch lots of hunting videos and enjoy seeing people hunt in different faraway ...

Re: Dusting Off My Ol' Ibex!

Most prefer aluminum. The plastic ones are referred to as SMF. I have two of these bows an Axiom SMF and an Ibex SMF and they are a great bow as well. I raised Guinea fowl in with my chickens they were very protective of the flock. When a fox came around they would let you know. The noise they make ...

Re: Dusting Off My Ol' Ibex!

The difference in the rails on the bows pictured is one is plastic the other is aluminum. I will let the other guys answer your other questions as they will be more help than me. I was wondering what kind of game you will be hunting. Always fascinated with the variety of animals you guys have there....

Re: Clear coat high gloss or matte?

I finally finished my Hydro Axe today. Put it in a box and shipped it to a real hydrodipper. :eusa-shhh: I am going to keep practicing on small items and will send this one to a dipper here in Maine. Dipping these stocks is a pain because of the multiple angles particularly around the finger savers....

[url=https://postimg.cc/QKM4RC4c] https://i.postimg.cc/WzGBqJ0Y/20200623-141309.jpg Well after 5 hours of sanding, scrubbing and scraping I finally got all of the paint and primer off and put a real good scuffing to the whole stock. I actually got some of the original finish to come off, that stuff ...

Re: Clear coat high gloss or matte?

They are glued on, with little "pegs" off the back to line them up, on some stocks the pegs actually stick though under the rail in the hand grip(matrix stocks for sure). I've removed two sets before, but was never able to reuse them. But I was changing colours and wasn't overly worried ab...

Re: Clear coat high gloss or matte?

Well here is where I am at now with my hydro-Axe. [url=https://postimg.cc/nsXTPKFC] https://i.postimg.cc/yNP5Wn2X/20200623-114347.jpg I had a couple imperfections that were about the size of a pencil eraser. Buy the time I was done "fixing" them they were one the size of a quarter. I am go...

Re: Clear coat high gloss or matte?

Anybody know if it's possible to remove the rubber grips from my Axe? It would make dipping a lot easier if I could remove them without destroying them. Thanks,

Re: Clear coat high gloss or matte?

Thanks Janesy I thought the same thing about shiny rifles. I admit to being a little bit of a camo freak. Part of me died when I scuffed and sprayed over the factory finish on my Axe. I have been drooling over a wood grain Micro at Wyvern Creations and decide for what it would cost I could learn to ...

Clear coat high gloss or matte?

I have begun the process of learning how to hydro dip at home. My first couple projects were a cell phone cover and an eyeglasses case. After I dip a few more small items I plan to dip the stock for Axe #1. I plan to use rugged straight grain film over olive green paint. It looks like old grey weath...

Re: Game Camera confusion

Robert the cameras that I am having the problem with are Wildgame Innovations. They were very inexpensive and have very few settings. Time/date, photo/video and number of pics. I tried an experiment with the cameras. I put them up back at a T trail intersection. We walked by them several times from ...

Re: Replacing limbs??

Use your stringer to remove bowstring. Decock the stringer which relaxes the limbs. Remove limb strap bolts and limb retaining bolts. Lift limbs from riser. Install new limbs. Replace limb bolts and limb strap bolts. I use blue Loc-tite on these bolts and tighten them down firmly. Restring, set brac...

Re: Game Camera confusion

Thanks guys for all the good advice. I ordered a couple Moultrie cams today. Going to try placing them higher pointing down. The cams I have I walked by them a dozen times this week and they didn't take a single pic. Also drove by with my truck and no images. :eusa-think:
