Re: What kind of deflection numbers are there for BD400, 420,440 bows?

Thanks guys, been out of the loop due to illness. Better now and tried to shoot the new limbs a few times yesterday in the garage. Surprise, I can barely cock the beast by rope now! I'm not too disappointed because I know that I am a little weaker than a month ago and I have a crank for it.....

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue

I'm another lefty with a crank... OK that didn't sound too good. My son in law printed me a new cheek piece with the cut out for crank release lever. Another simple option is to take a Dremel tool and remove a few millimeters of plastic. For stripped screw problem, you can also use automotive double...

Re: Do Air Brakes or Reds Affect Speed?

I have tried my BD400 with and without Airbrakes. Didn't notice any difference in sound or vibration but did feel the weight difference. They are approximately 1/2 lb right out in the front. Going to be using it without the brakes. Never tried without the Reds but believe that they are doing somethi...

What kind of deflection numbers are there for BD400, 420,440 bows?

Curious about what numbers are showing up or expected. I sent in a bow with splintered 58's that were replaced with 69.5's. The bow is shooting considerably faster, between 25 to 40 fps faster according to the scope ring adjustment needed. If anyone has pictures showing the profile difference betwee...

Re: Shooting my new to me BD400, first impressions

Thanks Boo. I bought one of those at Harbor Freight and there isn't enough space between the trigger block and rail for the insert. Front would be fine though. Hate to start grinding on the block so an insert would fit if I don't have to. It may need a trip back to Ontario or Ohio if the loctite doe...

Re: Shooting my new to me BD400, first impressions

Mine screws directly into the rail and had no loctite anywhere. Maybe that's why it shakes loose every 10 shots. I'm thinking about removing all of the screws, cleaning them well, and applying Blue loctite. If anyone has suggestions about the rear stock screw situation, please let me know. As of now...

Shooting my new to me BD400, first impressions

Well we got nice weather on the 1st day of spring so I had to take out the new equipment and sight her in. Here's what I've seen so far; Good stuff, I had no problem cocking the bow over 2 dozen times with my short rope Not as loud as expected after shooting without the airbrakes in my garage ACCURA...

Re: Durable Rain Suit Suggestions

I am on my 4th year with Scentblocker Rainblocker pants and an old Browning Hydrofleece jacket. I like the pants because they have a full length zipper that you can open from the top or bottom. Very important to me so I can vent my upper legs when walking. Pit zippers are also critical to me for ven...

Re: I am back with Excalibur after a couple years cooling off...

My rope claw is 7.5 inches away from the string when the other is engaged to cock. So I am half way there before I even start! Still that last inch is pretty tough but if you don't get to the latch at least the ADF is there to hold it so you can get another chance. The C2 is on the way and it will b...

Re: I am back with Excalibur after a couple years cooling off...

Just playing around with the BD400 and pulled off the Airbrakes. They weigh 7.9 oz! Big change in the feel of the bow but I couldn't hear any difference. Might be a bit more recoil but that was expected after pulling 1/2lb off the front. Also I'm shooting a 375 grain arrow indoors. Those short arrow...

I am back with Excalibur after a couple years cooling off...

I have always loved the recurve platform but had a bad experience with a Micro and left the fold for a while. Well now I am over it and just bought a BD400 to rejoin team Excalibur. Can't do any outside shooting for a while with the sloppy snow and mud so limited to a few shots in the gara...

Re: Hunting close to the house/back yard

I had a place with some land and deer that butted to a several thousand acre hill with oaks and beeches. We always had deer and turkeys in the yard where I kept about 3 acres clear and mowed. My rule was that I would not kill one of 'our pets' that we watched year round even the bucks if they were i...

Re: Got my Micro 355 replacement front end, thanks Peter

Guess I won't get to shoot it after all, between the time it arrived and was installed it sold. I sure wish it would have worked out because I loved most everything about the little bow. My OCD just wouldn't abide being out with something that I don't have 100% in :| ... It's going to make the new o...
