Sorry to hear of your bad luck! At least you're looking at it with a good attitude. Take care of the injuries, so they don't create any future problems, and you might want to contact a good reputable lawyer for advice before making any statements or settlements with the insurance company. Just from ...

a convert?????

Haven't said too much about the Shawnee Outdoorsmen crossbow shoot because I want to let everyone read about it in Horizontal Bowhunter magazine first. Today I was at the club helping set the course for a 3-D shoot tomorrow, and the club treasurer was helping too. He asked me if I was going to shoot...

Sounds like some good advice there Carl! Now where could a person get a high quality "custom" deer call?   That's another advantage of making calls, I can be picky about what I carry along, and even carry more than one. Tune one for dominant grunts, one for "wimpy"...

The bucks on that farm have not been very good racks. The one I shot last year was typical. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/wabi1/Exocetbuck03.jpg We've killed off a good many of the "culls" over the past few years, and the racks are slowly improving. Still not much to get excited o...

The hard part of flemish string making, for me, has been getting the jig set up properly. I started making 3 bundle strings, and soon found the same measurements don't work for 2 bundle. Not a huge difference, just enough to mess you up. I now make only 2 bundle (easier to make & they work!). Th...

The Exocet is a good balance between ease of cocking & speed and power. I love mine, but the deer around here might have different thoughts  I can't tell you much about price (I traded a compound bow for mine  ), but I'd email bj ( joneswl@vianet.ca ) for a price before I ordered one....

eBay listing for folding pruners

Listed this item on eBay and thought I'd let you see it. My wife bought one, and I had to run & grab a couple more as I thought it would be great for carrying in the pack to clear shooting lanes, when I expressed interest she also bought a couple more to suprise me. It worked! I was suprised to ...

Interesting!
I've been seriously thinking of trying an atlatl. (for target practice & "stump shootin') I read an article in the latest issue of "primative archer magazine" about them just last night.

I voted for the rubber coated stock, but I think it would be best as a possible option, and the thumbhole would be the same type upgrade. Matter of fact, with Mark's stocks available the thumbhole option is already covered. As for the auto safety, IMHO the manual safety is much safer if the shooter ...

Carl, Just plain old shelled corn. They are only eating about 100-150# a week. Sure hope they are fat & tasty come season  I sat in my ladder stand while the fawns & their mom ate the other evening and could hear then "crunching" the corn  We've been working on "cul...

gamecam pics from southern ohio

I have had the game cam off for a few weeks now, tired of burning film for racoons, does, turkeys, & fawns. Put some film back in Monday evening, and all the pics (24) were shot by Wednesay, plus 12 missed because I ran out of film in the camera. Got them developed and got a suprise. Started off...

The truth of the matter being the noise reduction is more for the shooter then anything Gary L. I don't know why but your comment inspired a moment of pure design inspiration on my part! I have it! The crossbow silencer! I'll have to do some testing, and file for a patent, but it's so simple I amaz...
