Re: Deer And Deer Sightings
The Gov't has destroyed the deer population where I hunt. Ten years ago we had too many deer, so the Govt introduced a free lottery on does. It didn't take long and they started charging $20 extra on top of your regular license if you won. Ten yrs later they STILL have the lottery, plus the addition...

Re: buy from amazon
With Amazons fake reviews, and Chinese copies, I'm very careful now. I almost got taken with fake broad heads on Amazon.
Their prices go up and down depending on demand, but normally here in Canada I find them over priced.

Re: Width??? Has it been a problem?
In a tree stand, no issues with my Exocet200, in my Dog House blind it was ok, but a slimmer bow would definitely been better. Having never carried the newer models, I would think you would get hung up less on branches while going through thick bush. But with all the stories of broken limbs, I won't...

Re: Recovery Rates With Crossbow
Inpatient hunters and also lazy hunters. Dbl lung shots I've done produce little blood, so if you shot that deer late afternoon, it could be dark before you start tracking. So last asses look for 15min and give up, I've seen it happen.

Re: Ladder stands
We have a couple Ameristeps two man stands. But they are only 15 or so feet. They are pretty comfy. I do however use a ratchet strap to pull the middle of the ladder into the tree instead of the chimney straps you are wanted to use. I also have a cpl of the two men Ameristep ladder stand. I bought ...

Re: Good Luck Today America - Cannucks are ready for the wal
I bet no clear winner is decided tonight, it might be too close, and many recounts may have to be done, delaying the outcome.
It's scary to think either of them will be in charge, and even though us Canadians are not part of it, IT WILL affect us.

Well said Don, and I agree, you should repost Ken, I certainly had no intention of of insulting you with my post. There is definitely a big difference between a gun show during hunting season and someone taking their personal time to share their knowledge during the season.

Probably the same reason they hold a gun show here in Montreal during deer hunting season......some things I just do not understand.

Even with a rifle I stay away from the shoulder, it's a waste of meat.

Re: Doe bleats, grunt calls & rattling?
I've had does that have come running in on me using a doe call a few times. This year I got busted by a doe by moving in my stand, not by scent, and she took off running, I did two doe bleats and she came running back wheezing like crazy. She would have been too on edge and nervous to shoot with a b...

Re: Montana decoys working
Groundhog up a tree, now that's pretty dang rare to see lol I have a Renco decoy, and I once had it set up with a little bit of corn beside it, looked like she was eating. About an hour in, this young doe walks right up to my decoy, and starts licking it Lol then she started eating the corn right be...

Dang, now that's sharp. After taking a chunk out of my palm this summer(10 stitches) I'd best stay away from that sharpener lol
