Re: Taking you kids hunting, question?
I agree with Wabi.... I have only been taking my kids on short afternoon hunts. We run out behind the house for that last golden hour and it seems to work. My oldest son got his first crossbow buck near his 7th birthday. His younger brother got his at 8. They are now 11 and 9 and they have about 6 b...

I ordered some 100 grain 2"... been wanting to try them for my kids Excal. The 2 for 1 deal was too good to pass up. I'll let you know what I think of them.

Re: My taxidermist sent me an e:mail... our bucks are finish
They are really nice. What was the final score on both? Did you mean semi-sneak on your son's Buck? Just got home safe and sound from Ohio Deer and Turkey expo. My deer scored 176 gross, 163 net. My sons deer went 140 gross and 122 net. I was just happy that I was able to finally say I have a "...

Yes PABOWDUDE60, I did mess that up a little bit. It's a Revolution form and they call it a relaxed sweep. Not a semi-sweep. I knew it had sweep in there somewhere.PABOWDUDE60 wrote:They are really nice. What was the final score on both? Did you mean semi-sneak on your son's Buck?

Re: Boo string owner contest
Wow Boo... your generosity is quite humbling. My son and I would graciously accept the gifts you have offered. We will put them to good use, thank you so much! To be honest, I thought Vrodman had it wrapped up with turkey, the bright colored veins and wraps with the sunset in the background. I reall...

Beautiful buck! Feels nice when hard work pays off in anything you do. I don't know you personally, but I've seen you behind some nice bucks over the years. You must have a good area and your a good hunter... a deadly combination to be sure. Again, congrats!

Re: NJ Bear
I was in New Jersey the week those bears were killed. I was asked to ride along on a last minute bear hunt. 8 hour drive across from Ohio. (took 80 all the way in) Never been anywhere close to Jersey... had a BLAST. Saw a couple of bear, but no shots. 3 of us where hunting and we got 2. 300 lb. fema...

Re: shooting sticks?
I've got a few things that I consider to be absolute musts when taking the kids AND when I'm laying in the weeds on sitting on the ground. I've got a Harris bi-pod that I have given credit for quite a few deer. I could not live without it . I bought it years ago for woodchuck hunting and didn't like...

Beautiful pics! Great colors, good lighting, not to mention one helluva buck. Might blow that one up and frame it for your wall
Also like the white hair around each one of his feet.. very cool. Could nickname him "socks"

Very nice! My next deer hunting goal is to take a buck with a handgun... I've got 2 problems though. The Exocet is awful good at harvesting bucks and Ohio is a one buck state.

Re: O/T - What do you do for a living?
Have worked in the grain business since I left highschool. Right now I am managing grain elevators in Indiana, Ohio and Alabama. Used to actually work in the plant so fall hunting was tough to accomplish, now I'm in the office more so my weekends are free.. thank goodness!
