Re: Bleeding fish

Most of the bleeding fish stuff I have seen is for red meat ocean species such as Tuna and others. I have never bled out a fresh water fish before cleaning it.

Re: Post your odd strange bucks n does

I shot this buck 3 years ago on the last day of the season. I had seen him earlier in the year and thought to myself, "Nope, he's gotta go". Just never could get on him. And then finally on the last day at last light. He messed up!! https://by3302files.storage.live.com/y4mWgumAzIt9jXJtm-z...

Re: Peggy waiting for Norm's arrows.

A wild sow either has a new litter of pigs with her or she is pregnant. She might even have a litter with her and also be pregnant.
Kill her if you can.

Re: Tink

I’ve tried a few on a decoy including Tinks. I’ve had the same experience as Neil said in that only immature deer are curious but cautiously curious. Absolutely no mature bucks were interested. Might work in a scrape but never tried. Whatever you do, let us know what happens. Sounds no different th...

I logged in years ago and told my computer to remember me. I have not had to log in since and have no idea what my password is anymore.

Re: Premature wear of crank rope

I would burn those tag ends down even with the rest of the rope and use it keeping an eye on it for more wear. You can get a piece of lawn mower crank cord at about any hardware store and replace the rope if needed.

Re: Split rope

I would say that you did not check your arrow before loading and firing it and it had a stress crack at the nock end that then split open and broke your string. If that was not the cause I would then say that you did not completely seat the arrow and a partial dry fire occurred which can do the same...

Re: Feeling old....

If it is bothering you at 58 just wait until you get old. I am turning 73 next month and still hunt daily and have dragged 2 bucks out of the woods so far this season (one was a friend's buck). If not for my Crawler cart and deer hoist I might have to give up hunting. Another 30 minutes and I am hea...

Re: My rut weather stinks!

Yesterday was the first rifle season doe day for my area. Being on a Saturday I really expected to hear shots going on all morning. I only heard 3 shots the entire morning and 2 were apparently from the same rifle. Out of 3 people (including me) on my club not a single doe was seen and only 1 small ...

Re: Head Up or Head Down...and Jumping the String

When you see a deer stomping it's foot or bobbing it's head up and down it is on alert and trying to get you to move and confirm it's suspicions. If you take a shot before it settles down there is a very good chance it will try to jump the string. As for having a head up when they die I would say if...

Mine is in its 4th year and other than pumping up the tires before the season starts every year it has been problem free.

Heres my tip. If you leave it in your driveway while loading the trailer. Your 5 year old firecracker of a daughter will jump on it. If the pins are not in the handles, the handle will fly back and hit her right in the nose.
I bet she only did that once.

Re: Gear tip deer cart

I have to pump up my crawler cart tires every year. Same with my pier cart that I use in FL every year. Small tires apparently do not hold pressure very well.
