Re: adjusted hunting techniques to climate change?
It's been different here in Mid-Atlantic USA. Deer don't seem to be wandering far - too much easy green browse? - and acorns just now started falling for real. One upside is that there's lots of ground cover still green and standing (I ground hunt) and the leaves have just started to fall, so walkin...

Re: 2016 Models - Not impressed.
Growing up we had a Citroen DS19. The wheels each have one lug nut in the center. One. A car waaaay ahead of it's time (lookitup).

Re: Size of broad tip arrow
If I'm not mistaken, the standard arrows that came with my 330 had 150grain field points. I want momentum/mass as much as speed, so I shoot 150's which matches up well with Excal 150rain 'boltcutters'. So far, out to 30yd or so, I've gotten pass-throughs and they've done great for me.

Re: Zeiss Terra crossbow scope
Don't have the xbow scope (yet) but as far as the Terra riflescope line goes: I read a handful of reviews and they were good but not over-the-top great. Then I went to Gmtn and held a 2-7x32 Terra and the equivalent Leup VXII up to my eyes. Hands down I preferred the build, contrast, color, click wh...

Well done!
I too have been busted similarly a couple of times and responded with a huff, but never had them come back close enough. The hide-and-seek is why I love ground hunting!

Re: How far is too far?
Get yourself a light folding 'camping seat' (look for Crazy Creek) too. Super comfortable, provides back support, and easy to tote. Somewhere years ago I found one in camo.

Re: Varizone Question
'Sighting in' may take some effort but just checking the bow doesn't (assuming you have a target). I actually don't target shoot much, so it's always reassuring to set the bag out and at least shoot once, say at 30yds? Takes all of 5min and tells me nothing major has gone wonky.

Re: One of those hunting seasons
And then there's the time - yesterday to be exact :? - when I had a young buck in my sights, debated whether I should let him grow some more points and then said 'what the heck, I hunt for meat not horns'. I pulled the trigger and he stepped out of my sight window into some thick stuff. Forgot to ta...

Re: My Strirup screws are very very tight. Is there a proble
Darwall, part is that they are relatively basic questions and part is probably a language/translation issue. So, folks start thinking it's a troll and respond with sarcasm. Back to your question: Any screw can be overtightened and usually you won't know till it fails - strips the threads or it break...

First turkey
Second season with xbow. Two weeks ago got a nice big doe - we like to eat local and it'll be our meat for most of the year. I worked hard for it (sat out a lot of hours waiting for an ethical shot) but it was a good clean kill and for that I'm thankful. This morning while trying for a second I hear...

Re: Very Nice Hunt
Amen! Respecting these awesome critters is always the *right* thing. And unless you're an iceman, I'm sure the adrenaline rush was just as good - shot or no shot. I love every time I sit out even if it's just chuckling watching the squirrels get ready for winter
