Re: What I did to the Micro today....

For whatever reason, re-sighting it in took a bit to accomplish. I've got a Hawke XB30 2-8×36 but it did not go as easy as the YouTube video Wyvern put out last year. But after a couple dozen shots I think it will do. It still needs taken out to past 60 yards to verify the reticle marks beyond, but ...

Re: Scopes

I don't know how much you are willing to spend but my go to now is a Sig Sauer BDX 2.5-8x32 scope an a 1400 Kilo Rangefinder that I bought from Cameraland for $450 shipped. You can preset up to 8 aiming points at any distances you want them or let the RF tell your scope the distance and put in an a...

Re: Disaster moose hunt

That really is a bum deal you got with all of those limbs. I gather from what you are saying that the limbs you had on hand, including the spares, were all from the era that had the bad limbs though. So when you receive your new replacement sets from Excalibur they should be of current build quality...

What I did to the Micro today....

After much research on the three choices of trigger assembly, I decided to go ahead and do a trigger job on the Micro's stock trigger housing parts today as a first response to the sear's noticable dragging and weight of pull. I wanted to do this first before dropping a couple hundred bucks on a new...

Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?

I would also polish the top of the rail as well as the edges and corners that the string rides on with 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper. The string will glide down the barrel with no more fraying from the machining, and doesn't usually effect the annodized color if you don't have deep cutter marks to poli...

Re: micro 315

I run heavy inserts and 125 grain heads out of my 335 and it works great. The higher FOC (weight forward) helps with the short shaft and keeps momentum up down range. It seems like they weigh in around 400 grains total. Give these guys a shout for a super accurate custom made bolt. They do some of t...

Re: cheek piece and trigger question

Something else to look at doing while the bow is apart for trigger catch polishing: Polish the top of the rail where the string rides on. Also radius and polish the corners of the rail where the trigger comes up through the barrel. The string rides that rail really hard back there and there is sharp...

Re: Flight rail is digging in my arrows

Mine was doing the same thing, as well as the top rail chewing on the string so I polished my rail and groove with a piece of 600 fine grit wet-dry sandpaper. It worked out great. Use the paper on a flat block for the top rail, and roll a piece on an arrow shaft to do the groove. Don't forget to pol...

Re: Bow level

I put a carpenter's level across the limbs to level the bow, then set up a bubble level on the scope level with that. After the set-up I shoot it horizontal to sight it the scope, then shoot it on inclined or declined long range targets to see if it is still accurate and not shooting left or right. ...

Re: Rail Cleaning

I used an 1800 grit wet/dry sandpaper to polish the top and corners of the rail where the string rides. I also rolled it onto a bolt shaft and did the groove. The anodizing is deeper than the mill marks that were on the rail that held the dirt and wax, and consequently frayed the string. Now the rai...

Re: Scope recommendations for 335

I can reach out to 100 yards easily, watching the bolt fly to the mark even. But it is really the magnification that is what is lacking. If it were twice what it is then it would be near perfect. And like I said earlier, I target shoot this x-bow. I hunt with my vertical bows.

Scope recommendations for 335

I have the 335 micro with a scope off a Raven that has all the hash marks and dots out to 100 yards. It works out ok but the magnification really sucks because of the speed, so accuracy is suffering. Without going to the HHA opt. setup, what hard mounted scope will give me more magnification but wit...

Paste this link to the VPA website in your browser. These are some of the sweetest small game heads I have ever seen. They are not as cheap as drilling a penny, but they will definitely thump a varmint! High quality steel, heat treated, and many different weights to choose from. https://vparchery.co...

Re: Micro 335 Gen 1 or Gen 2?

You would do well to polish the top of the rail and knock off those sharp edges. It looks like they are really chewing up that string quickly. 800 and 1000 grit wet-dry sandpaper works great, and it doesn't take much to take the rough edges off so the string glides.

Re: SK-200 Glow in the dark vanes

I don't use bright colored vanes; too many videos of deer ducking arrows with ears and eyes focused on the arrow's path to them. In a lot of video you can see the deer focus hearing and or actually watching the arrow come at them and trying to get out of its way. All they know is it is not a natural...
