Re: MICRO 355 arrow weight

 The factory Micro Quill's with the 150 grain field point weigh 405.

Re: Cat Whiskers

I use them on my micro, folded and cut in half and tied/wrapped tight forming a nice round ball. I placed then just outside of the string stoppers for a noticeable improvement.

Re: Check this out!

I got a couple of different types of camera levels off eBay. After leveling up the bow with them and a long carpenter level on the limb tips I put scope level on the scope mounts, to match the other bubbles. The scope level is right in my peripheral vision where it needs to be.

Re: Game Camera Camo

Make a "log" out of 6" pcv, covered by bark with the camera installed inside. Place it in the crotch of a tree or stand it up on end.

Re: Exomax Rail

At the shot, if one limb is a bit weaker it will pull more to one side, pushing the nock and shaft to that side of the rail.

Re: Dead zone scope question

Once dialed in at the 40, you can always move back to 60 or further to fine tune the dial. Sighting in and practicing at the longer yardages makes the close shots even more accurate.

Re: Assassin String advice

It could very well be a small burr or sharp edge on the rail. I polished my rail and bolt channel with 600 grit, then 1000 grit wet dry paper to knock down the machine tool marks that were causing a slight amount of serving wear and noticeable drag and scratching on my bolts. It is all better now.

Re: Antlers

I have heard of the bigger bucks holding on to them into March before. The weather and nutrition probably have a lot to do with it. It got cold fast this year, with a couple warm-ups mixed in. It would be interesting to be able to track this "phenomenon", but it would take years!

Re: Bare shaft tuning

I bought my dozen Spynall Tapps from Jerry at South Shore Archery. He was a highly recommended arrow and bolt guru, and will measure and mark the spine for you before fletching so it is oriented correctly. Spine matched, grain weight matched, indexed, shafts are not cheap, but he said he guaranteed ...

I still get the smell with plastic nocks. I always thought it was string friction down the rail
I polished the top of the rail last night to stop any serving wear and cut down on friction, but friction and heat is obviously still there. I'll give her the 'ol sniff test...

Interesting, I only get the smell with the one factory arrow I own that I use for testing
I use both Quills and Spynall Tapps and the aroma is there for both.

Ahh, the pleasant smell of crossbow being fired is in the air!

I've only shot a few different Excalibur Micro's over the recent years and so I'm not sure if the wheeled bows create the same fired aroma, but the Micro's all leave a distinct smell in the air at the shot. So what do you guys think that smell comes from, the type of string material used or maybe ho...

WOW! I never would have imagined the scope moving that much after the shot.
Same here! That's wild. 8)
I'd be checking that mounting hardware for sure!

Thanks for taking the time to do these videos Paulaboutform.

Re: Another look at 100 yard shooting

Here's one video of a deer reacting to the arrow with bright vanes clearly coming at him. http://www.wideopenspaces.com/check-out-this-bucks-reaction-after-getting-drilled-with-arrow/amp/ Cool video, which proves nothing. I stand by my statement. The buck reacts as the arrow is through him. That bu...
