Not a definite answer but too low a brace height will allow the string/serving to slap the step in the riser adding that "crack" to the already there noise Experiments with brace heights, arrow weights and string materials before "quieting down" your bow are time well spent Yup,...

The arm that Pypiper mentioned is likely the source of the noise. When you do get some heat shrink get the double walled (also known as self sealing) type of tubing. It is heavier and will change the harmonics shearly by the weight change. Two other things you can do is to serve some cat whiskers ab...

Picture contest vote

Please present your vote in list form to make it easy for RJ to tabulate. RJ will only be looking for your number one vote. I must say that the number of good trophy pictures has increased this year and for that I am very pleased. It certainly was not easy to pick first. RJ's picture is very polishe...

Definitely packing it in, when you called me I had imagined narrow strips. Feel the bark, if it isn't wet or very damp then the tree is packing it in.

You're welcome! I have about 40 people with up to 2 strings per order ahead of me. I use .030" Halo but I suggest you use .026" Angel Majesty. Use a Cavalier Pro or a Spigarelli serving too. I trust you saw my no weld jig for serving? Have you seen how I cut down the rods on the STS? I did...

I've found the least amount of wear when the string barely or almost touches the bumpers.

Gaping wounds. Works well but hurts like hell!

Only if I'm in the wilderness I carry some stuff but as years go on it's less and less. I carry a space blanket, lighter, 45 cal aerial flares and a couple of bars of high cal garbage.
Edit, I forgot, a whistle.

If you sent in your warranty card the bumpers are warranted for a year. Have you cut your rods down?

Well Scott: If you feel the horse is still breathing slightly :) let me add the last whack. No matter what is said, to each his own. If one feels something will help him or her out, do it. If someone wants to dress up there outfits (rigs) more to be different, do it. Everyone has an opinion, whethe...
