Bulldog 380 & bipod mount

Looking at the new Bullbog 380 I see that the front swivel mount is less than an inch from the front of the stock. I like using a bipod for sighting in from the prone position. Could I install another mount farther up the rail with out any issues, or any other ideas?

Re: New Bulldog with Hawke XB 30 Scope-Fitment ?

Does Hawke offer any 30mm offset mounts in the medium or low version? I'm thinking that the high mounts may be too tall to properly use the cheek piece

Re: New Bulldog with Hawke XB 30 Scope-Fitment ?

I recently updated from my Axiom to a new Bulldog 380, and since I'm going this far I'm considering updating the scope as well. I have narrowed it down to the Hawke XB 30. Will this scope mount directly into the stock rings as they are both 33mm tubes or am I going to have eye relief issues with th...

Re: New Matrix Bulldog 380 vs Matrix 380

Thanks for all the information! I think I will go with the Bulldog, my local store has one and if felt good to handle. Can anyone tell me why everyone rates it at around 15 ft/second slower than the matrix 380? I'm not worried about the slower speed just a curiosity question.

Thanks, Tim

New Matrix Bulldog 380 vs Matrix 380

I'm going to update my Axiom to either the new Bulldog or the Matrix 380, can anyone tell me if the new Bulldog is worth the extra $. It seems most everyone who has the Matrix is happy with their bow. Thanks, Tim

Re: moon phase simplified

I used to avoid hunting the full moon but have since changed my mind. There seems to be a lot night activity during the full moon but even daylight hours activity seems to pick up. A few weeks ago during the super moon animals were everywhere.

Re: Cold weather bow issues?

Thanks guys, rifle season ends here Nov 31 and then there is a 20 day bow only season, just a matter of dealing with old man winter.

Re: Cold weather bow issues?

Thanks, November around here is usually around -10 C or so. There will be snow but no freezing rain. I was concerned about the affect of cold on the limbs good to hear I have nothing to worry about.

Cold weather bow issues?

First year with crossbow, I plan on doing a lot of late season mule deer hunting. Are there any issues I should be aware of when sitting in my stand in sub freezing temperatures? Thanks

Re: Changing from 150 to 125gr with Firebolt?

I shot a small buck with a Slick Trick 150 , it performed flawlessly, I guess its just the urge to try something new that gets me. I hunt in thick bush areas & I'm always worried about loosing something due to a weak blood trail. All the pictures I see from mechanical broadheads tend to show mas...

Re: Changing from 150 to 125gr with Firebolt?

Thanks, my main concern was having to little FOC with the lighter broadhead resulting in bigger groupings. I shoot an Axiom so I'm thinking that the slower arrow speeds may be more forgiving to a lighter broadhead than a faster shooting bow. Would that be correct?

Changing from 150 to 125gr with Firebolt?

I have been shooting 150 gr Slick Tricks with the Firebolts my bow came with. I would like to try some mechanicals but all the one's I'm interested in are 125gr, does anyone know if my accuracy would suffer with the lighter broadhead? Thanks.

Re: Wet arrow lower impact?

I thought it might be rain droplets on arrow and excessive moisture on fletchings. I shoot an Axiom so my arrow speed is slower to start with which may be more pronounced than a bow shooting faster speeds?
