Re: opening day blues

Opening day for Texas was September the 28th. It was 93 degrees in the shade by 10am! Even my sweat was sweating  !! Need less to say, I saw NOTHING! And I've had several good bucks on camera since around the 1st of the month. It's supposed to be cooler by the 10th of October with night t...

Re: quills not lasting

Looks like an Easton Quill. I have one of the Yellow Jacket broadhead targets and with the Boltcutters it can be a real pain in the rump to pull these from the block. The Yellow Jacket target seems to be really hard. I fractured a Quill removing it from the target. I started using a Double D's arrow...

Re: string silencers

The effectiveness of silencers are dependent on your expectations and your hearing. If you're a geezer, worked on a noisy environment or shot much without hearing protection, there are certain frequencies you just will not appreciate. Silencers not only lower noise but they lower recoil. The realit...

Re: Season is almost here.

Here in Texas season kicks off September 28th. Went out the other day to cut back a few limbs around the old ladder stand. Make sure no pesky, stinging "critters" had built nest in or around the place. It's been super dry this summer. Had a lot of the wet stuff during the spring. Some of t...

Re: Micro 355 Stock Quill/150 gr Field point SPEED?

@400g mine averages about 345fps. Trigger could be more crisp. I shot a rifle professionally for a number of years, so I'm use to a very clean break on the trigger mechanism. However, with al that being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Micro Suppressor 355 as far as I am concerned. I...

Re: And They SAID DON’T DO THIS!

When I first got mine, I had watched a bunch of YouTube videos and thought "no way that this bow is that accurate". Boy was I wrong!! Before I sat down at the bench to sight it in, I added a Harris bipod to the front end of that little critter. Just like I'd sight in my favorite rif...

Re: Age/ getting old /cocking a crossbow

I'm 61, still draw the cocking rope on my Micro Suppressor 355. Still climb a ladder stand, and hunt as much as possible. Fish too. I agree, "use it or lose it" is what I've always heard. I know there will come a day that the old back says, "No More". I already ahead of...

Re: matrix or micro

Well, I'm over 60 :eusa-dance: and I really like my Micro 355!! Like the others say, shoot the one that you're comfortable with! Any of the Excalibur stuff will do the job as long as you do yours! And btw...the "shortening of the string" on your rope cocker really does help. :mrg...

The deer would indeed be a rather tasty morsel, but think of all the fiber you'd get from the tree!! Just saying!

Re: micro 355 crossbow

I've had a 355 Micro Suppressor for some time now. I LOVE this bow! My wife says I spend more time with it than with her!! Anyway...I've hunted out of tree stands, ground blinds and tower stands under a bunch of different conditions and the Micro has always worked like a charm! I couldn't be m...

Re: OT Where were you 11/22/1963

I was a kid out running the woods of East Texas. I remember stopping by my Grandpa's place. He was tough as an Iron Wood tree stump. Part Irish and part Choctaw. He had raised 10 kids, Been drafted into WWI and lived to tell about it. I though he was invincible. I remember seeing him sitting in fron...

Re: Portable Crossbow Tripod

In all seriousness, I too took a camera tripod and made a few adjustments to the mounting head. I made a wooden cradle head that would attach to the camera post. wrapped it in felt and then secured it to the tripod. The tripod itself is very sturdy and fully adjustable for height and the head fully ...
