Re: WITH ONLY 1283 DAYS TO GO. PREPARATIONS HAVE BEGUN....
Congratulations, that sounds like a great piece of land. You're going to have some great times there and look back on this as one of your best decisions. We bought our first farm in 1985 and it has been such a plus for our family. We traded up in 2010 because the quarry next to us said it intended t...

Re: Any CAN-US Border News Re: Hunting?
Hunting and fishing should be improving for you Canadians. Two years with substantially reduced pressure should improve opportunities. I'm looking forward to going back to Pipestone lake in Ontario when this is over when the walleyes and smallmouths should be bigger and more numerous. I hope everyo...

Re: News in Mo.
I live in Missouri but have never seen a bear in this state. They have been sighted a couple of miles from my house, but not by me. Most of the bears live south of the Missouri river and I do nearly all of my hunting north of there. They seem to have become quite common in certain areas and I'm glad...

Re: Coyote off the Couch
Nice job on the coyote! They need thinning just about everywhere. I do live in the suburbs and and I see more wildlife out of my windows at my suburban home than at my farm. I've seen coyotes during the day plenty of times along with deer, turkeys, foxes, hawks, owls and way too many geese. A black ...

shed hunting
Does anybody have any tips on how to find shed antlers? I have found a few over the years but I pretty much just stumbled onto them. My wife saw a big buck with both antlers last week and I saw a small one with one antler. Prime time seems to be right about now because they would be freshly fallen. ...

Re: Lead fragments in venison
Use better performing bonded bullets as a second choice to copper. I use Bonded Bear Claws in my 300 Win Mag. Do they retain nearly all of their weight after colliding with your prey like solid non lead bullets do? That is the problem with lead bullets, they fragment badly and spread their toxicity...

Re: Lead fragments in venison
Lead is not passed through the body it stays. The ammo shortage is because all of the factories shut down last year for covid they have not been able to catch up. I don't think so. I did a quick google search and everything I could find said the shortage is caused by a huge increase in demand inspi...

Re: Lead fragments in venison
"Irrational fear of of Biden banning ammunition sales caused people to hoard all types of rifle and shotgun shells (lead and non-toxic) leaving nothing available." Since you felt the need to include that, I'll also share my irrational fear of Biden not giving us our $2000.00 stimulus chec...

Lead fragments in venison
Last year I submitted a topic about lead fragments killing bald eagles when they eat what is left of field dressed deer. A recent study in Minnesota found that there was an alarming amount of lead fragments in deer meat donated to feed the hungry in that state. As I'm sure all of you know, lead is t...

Re: First sign of warmer weather
The snow is nearly all gone here. It was pretty deep a week ago but it was very cold when it fell and I think that results in less moisture per inch and a quicker melt. I'm getting ready to book a crappie fishing trip to Reelfoot lake in TN. The warmer temperatures have me thinking about fishing.

Re: O/T Amythntr
Happy birthday! I need your expert opinion on something. You may need to consider this yourself since you are looking at buying some property. Can I depreciate a $2,000.00 crossbow as harvesting equipment for the farm? I did it with a tractor (which I harvest nothing with) so why not a crossbow (or ...
