That is normal no worries however you will want to get a spare string and a string changer also it is a good idea to learn how to reserve your own string as this is about the only thing that requires regular maintenance kind of like a oil change for your bow.

I have used a 102 sheath knife for gutting many bucks it was my first deer knife still serves me well.

The Axiom kit from most dealers does not come with a cocker that is why I asked.
When I first got my crossbow the noise was unsettling took me a while to settle into my best groups but you are doing fine enjoy your shooting.
