Re: Can anyone clear up these pics?

I can clearly see you have your work cut out for you. He's gotta be 155"+ inches. Hope you get him. If not, hope you push him down to Lapeer co where I might get a crack at him!!!

Re: Crossbow for the whole family?

Go with the vixen, you won't be sorry. The Phoenix would be a good option for the fam too. Can't really go wrong with either of these two. A factor to consider here is not only draw weight, but the overall mass of the bow. My wife doesn't like to shoot my equinox because its heavy for her to hold on...

Re: Guardian ADF

I bought the basic scope rail a few weeks ago and it came with screws and an Allen wrench. But the screws you are removing from the old rail will fit the guardian if you saved them, and any old Allen wrench will work. Good luck

Re: Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?

buy a c2 crank then you wont have to cut your bow down. yhat way you can keep the power No way I'm cutting down my 380...doesn't bother me at all to draw it. What I'm thinking about buying a 355 to cut it down for the pure sake of hunt-ability. An 11-11.5" power stroke and overall length of ab...

Re: Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?

That's the kind of info I was looking to find. Numbers all in the ball park I thought would be achievable with that length of rail. This is what I'd like to see someday: a matrix platform vixen that could shoot a 16" arrow at 325gr, while getting 300fps or better  . If they don't make th...

Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?

Haven't heard about anyone trying to cut the rail on a matrix, say down to 330 or 305. I've been really curious to see what a Vixen-Matrix might be like to hunt with...gets a man to thinking.

Re: 355 question

I have about 400 shots through my 380 with the stock string and serving. I rotate the string about every 50 shots or so and there's still plenty of life left in it. Serving wear is surprisingly minimal with the sharp angle and speed it has to endure. I did polish the latches.

Re: now to quiet it down some

Shoot a heavier arrow. I use the x-factor limb dampener on a matrix 380 and they make a huge difference to me. Granted I lost about 10fps but its quieter than my Vixen now. They wrap around the limb and with the wider profile of matrix limb, they stay in place really well, probably wouldn't fit an e...

Dissipator Bars...worth it?

I was thinking of updating an older Vixen with dissipator bars. They can be had for about $35 new, on eBay. Someone wiser than me told me once to ditch the set I have on my Equinox because they basically don't work and add weight. I find my Vixen, even with a quality Flemish string, buzzes louder th...

Re: Free Crossbow Clinics coming to Michigan....

Does Michigan still have the 350fps limit on crossbows? I might have to take the Matrix 380 sticker off my new rig when I hunt stateside. it's great to bring awareness to our sport, thanks for all the hard work.

Re: Rookie Crossbow Hunter Needs Advice

I definitely recommend excalibur because they are so dependable, simple and accurate as hell. If you can swing it, either the Matrix 355 or 380 gets my vote. If budget is a factor, go with the Vixen II. The retail is low, they handle really well because they are so light and short. My wife has one a...

Re: First Impressions of Matrix 380

Regarding the rope cocker- it's supposed to be 'too short', as it helps to reduce the distance in drawing. I actually shortened mine even more so that before the pull its already halfway home before I touch the handles. Obviously, without cams, the 380 will feel harder to draw compared to your Parke...
