Re: Just for fun
I did this exact thing after a bison hunt in Neb. The outfitter is also a long range Sharps shooter and he had us out shooting his Sharps rifles....what a blast. Anyway, we were about 380yds from the target (life sized buffalo made of 1/4" steel) and we all wanted to see if I could reach the t...

Re: Just for fun
I just found some information on a old piece of forum from the year 2009: Person 1: 377 yds. Shooting a DXT, 63#, 283 fps with a 360 grain arrow and: Person 2: Elite GT500, 30 inch draw, 70 lbs, 2 inch blazers, a field tip and 360 grain arrow. Optimum angle is 38 degrees and I get around 500 yards. ...

Re: Just for fun
Wow, that's much more than i aspected. Thank you for finding this information and sharing it! 1988...it must have been a very fast crossbow for that time, but nowadays crossbows are much faster. So, maybe my 380 can also reach more than a mile(?) Also thinking about crossbows like the Skorpyd 175 no...

Just for fun
A question, just for fun...(totally no use at all) Sometimes i wonder how far my bolt will reach, shooting it as far as possible - without a target. I don't have the field this size to use, so i can't try it myself. I shoot a 380 and 400 grain 20 inch....i think it will travelling (just a guess) 100...

New Ramcats
Did someone tried the new fixed Ramcats allready?
If yes, what are your experiences with these...are they as accurate as they promised to be?

Hunting with night vision
Has someone of you hunted with a night vision scope / infra red?
What are your experiences with this? (all info about this is welcome)
Like: what was the range of clear visability, difficulties, what kind of scope, would you recommend this, etc, etc.
Thanks for your share of information!

Re: Bolt Length vs Spine Stiffness vs Accuracy
I'm target shooting at 100 - 150 yards and i found out that 20 inch is more accurate than the 18 inch arrows. (Diablo and firebolt, using a 380)
Good tip for having a good accuracy was also using the same cockvane every time. (mark the most accurate vane and use this is as the cockvane)

most accurate arrow & broadhead
Pure looking to accuracy..(which is very important offcourse). Which of all do you guys find the most accurate arrow and broadhead? Which brand & type, how many inch shaft...fixed blades and / or mechanicals. Just name it. And please, no answers with: it depends...etc.(most of us understand ther...

Re: Rifle scope on a crossbow
Yes you can. The paralax setting is further on a rifle scope and most crossbow scopes have hash marks that can be adjusted using the variable power magnification settings which they usually call a speed dial. You can usually, depending on the bow and arrow recipe, set up your zero where you can use...

Rifle scope on a crossbow
Dumb question, maybe (just unexperienced) but can you use a rifle scope on a crossbow. If not...why not? And what are the big differences between a rifle- and a crossbow-scope?
Allready thanks for not laughing me out and your answers.

Re: confusion over models
Hi Mick, Let me see if I can address some of your questions: .Is the 400 the same limbs as the rest of the matrix line? Yes, all of the Matrix limbs come out of the same mold. 2.Do the 315, 335 and 355 micro have the same limbs? And if so how did they get the 355 to work when the 335 to be honest w...

Re: spitfire sharp?
Well, nice to hear you guys have good experiences. Seems to be i'm the first one with sharpnes problems. I din't expect a super super sharp broadhead, but you can push your finger hard on it, slide it hardly and fast along the 'sharp' side and see really nothing happen. I ordered these broadheads in...

spitfire sharp?
I heard some people say on the forum that the spitfire broadhead are very sharp. I ordered a 3-pack of these, and it seems to be impossible to cut yourself with the so called 'sharp' blades. My boltcutters are obvious sharper. (and i thought the boltcutters were allready not very sharp) Did i get 'w...

Also note that there is a right way to align / install ( contact wires) with your arrow shaft / vanes on a crossbow. Or else they could affect accuracy and or damage the inside edges of rail / track . See previous thread on the subject below for details. Nov 5th 2015 http://www.excaliburcrossbow.co...
