Re: Just Another Case of God's Will Being Different than Min
Sorry to hear about your mishap and neck/shoulder issues. I had shoulder impingement several months ago and need to due daily rehab exercises to keep it loose. In an emergency I could use the rope cocker, but to be on the safe side, I got the C2 cranker and that's all I use. I thought you were order...

Congrats on the deer. The NY muzzleloader season starts in a few weeks. I have more confidence in the shot gun primer in my 50 cal optima than I ever did in my old TC using the caps.

Sometimes stuff happens like that. Not what you wished for, but you did the best you could after the first shot.
Congrats to you and your buddy. Both he and the deer make that ATV look small.

Re: Doe down...question about hanging?
I have always taken the hide off asap-much easier to do when still warm. Also, butcher as soon as possible. As previously stated, the aging process is a controlled one and most of us lack the ability to properly control the process. Also, before cooking, cut every bit of fat that you possibly can of...

Re: C2 Crank Cocking Aid
I highly recommend the C2. I use it for my Matrix even though I could cock it with just the cocking rope. Makes the job soo easy.
It's also good to use the C2 with the stringer. Makes that process easy as well.

Re: Best way to keep warm feet
FYI I was at a Field & Stream store today and made sure to note the name of the thermal insoles that are fantastic, especially if you wear rubber boots. They are called Little Hotties Thermal Insoles. Cost is $7.99 for a pair. There is about 1000 grams of felt and wool with a reflective layer on...

Re: What to Sell?
If you are not going to use the other crossbows, sell at least one. I just started selling my old compound vertical bows and realized that I should have sold them earlier as getting $200 five or ten years ago would have been better than $50 today. 10 years from now, I will be lucky to get $5. Even t...

Hawke XB30
Dave at Wyverns had the old model at reduced price a few months ago, $129?. Give him a call to see if he still has any left.
I actually like the crosshairs without the red or green light, however, if you need that feature, this scope is fantastic for that.

Lacrosse or any other brand rubber boots that are 2000 grams. Make sure the boots are not super tight - at least a half size too big is better. Merino wool socks. On top of the socks put the 10 hour handwarmer packs by your toes and then put a layer of thin socks over the heat pack on each foot to h...

Re: Whitetails are remarkable "machines"
Yes, deer are incredibly tough and no two shot instances are alike.
Anyone that blames equipment, especially broad heads, after deer travel a long distance, should make sure to read about your experience.

Re: Mechanical Heads
Tom - excellent post - No matter what is used; even after what is thought to be a perfect hit there is always the chance, albeit an extremely small one, that the deer will not be recovered, That goes for rifle, shotgun, muzzle loader, compound bows, crossbows, everything. In the bow hunting realm it...
