POI with different arrows
I have both aluminum 2219's and the Fire Bolts that came with my Exocet 200. I set the scope using the 2219's with 100 grain points. I was just shooting and wondered if those firebolts with the 100 grain points on them would shoot different because they are lighter. Shooting from 20-25 yards I saw n...

Re: When are you happy?
I have no idea how fast my Exocet 200 is. It really doesn't matter either, as long as it drops what I aim at I'm happy.

Re: Mechanical or Fixed Broadhead
I shot my first deer with a crossbow yesterday afternoon using an NAP Spitfire Max. I've always used WASP fixed heads on my vertical bows so I was interested in seeing how well these mechanicals would work for myself. One thing I didn't like from the get go was lack of blood at the point of entry. I...

First deer with my Crosbow
So here is my first buck with a crossbow. 18 yard quartering away shot and he went about 100 yards. I though I lost him but I climbed up a hill to get a better look around and he was piled up at the bottom of that hill. Not the biggest buck in the woods but he will eat good. http://i1183.photobucket...

Re: Warm Weather
It was 84 today when I headed out to sit this afternoon and yes I was sweating by the time I got up in my stand. 3 hours later I had two big does and a fawn come in downwind of me to 15 yards and I thought they would bust me for sure. They never did, in fact they hung out right in front of me at abo...

Why not put another stand where the deer are waiting?

Re: Blinds ?
I built a natural ground blind 2 days ago in one spot and I'm working on another ground blind this afternoon made out of pallets with tree limbs stuck in them. I also have three loc on stands up.

Re: Shooting freehand
Shot again today from 10 and 20 yards and had them all in the ten ring! Elbow into the body was the ticket. With some more practice I'm sure I'l be knocking off nocks soon. Bow season starts here this Saturday and I'm confident I can use the Exocet now and leave my vertical bow home. Thanks to every...

Re: Shooting freehand
Thanks for the tips. It's been a long time since I've shot a rifle so standing form is something I'd forgotten. I will have a rest while hunting but I'll keep at this because you never know what you might walk up on going in.

Shooting freehand
I'm getting good groups all the way out to 40 yards with a bench rest but I'm finding I can shoot better freehand with my vertical bow even at 15 yards. I'm all over the place with the Exocet. Would a monopod shooting stick work or should I get a bipod stick? What do you all use?

Re: Cat Whisker's
I bought these Apex Doubledown String Silencers and they lasted 4 shots before they blew off the string. I might give that yarn trick a try tho.
