Re: Calls from Canada

Landline or cell? Very easy to block callers on a cell phone. Also, many companies route their calls through secondary systems giving the illusion that the call is originating somewhere it's not. What is the caller doing? Are they speaking to you or a dead line? Either way, sorry to hear this is hap...

Re: Range Finders

To the original question, the Simmons has a nice crisp display, but lacks decent optics. If you are buying a rangefinder for the optics, you may be disappointed. I am pretty sure my first Bushnell had plastic lenses, but then I didn't buy it for looking at things, I bought it for ranging things. Cou...

Re: Range Finders

I started with the entry level Bushnell, it worked OK. After I lost it I replaced it with the Simmons, pretty much the same ring but a vertical platform opposed to horizontal like Bushnell cheapies. Then I picked up a Leopold RX1200, and realized what what have been missing in a rangefinder. For arc...

Re: Very good quality optics

As far as stability, how does a monocular compare to binoculars? Does using one hand help or hinder? Something smaller than binoculars would sure be nice.

Re: UPDATE. OT YouTube Sensorship!!!!

Sorry Tom, I didn't say moderated, I said censored. It's a joyful place where problems don't exist. I am not convinced that 1 person is responsable for the problems that have surfaced with the bows in the last few years. New guys get the sunshine treatment here, not as fact based as it once was. Exc...

Re: UPDATE. OT YouTube Sensorship!!!!

Discussing censorship on one of most censored forums I belong to.. It isn't always about censorship, sometimes people just don't agree and have the ability and reasons to make your opinion dissappear in written form. Sucks your video got removed, I am still looking for the thread on the 355 split li...

My hands also go numb while sleeping. Sometimes while driving. Never while drinking! Maybe I should see a doctor.
Or.. Just drink more.

Re: Brace height / POI

There is a difference. As the string elongates the power stroke changes, and that has an effect on speed, which in turn has an effect on POI. On a deer, won't make much of a difference, but we also hunt rabbit, squirrel, turkey.. So that small difference suddenly becomes big, big enough to completel...

Re: love the new vixen .why would excal discontinue such a c

Excalibur has been americanalized. Yes, I made that word up. The worst thing a company can do is make a product that people wont want to upgrade from, and Excalibur did just that. It is no longer about providing hunters with a product they can pass to their kids, it is about making people crave the ...

Re: Crossbows across the border

A crossbow is not considered a firearm in Canada. Advise them you have archery gear with you for target shooting or hunting. The receipt is all you need to prove it was brought with you when you arrived. Otherwise US Customs could try and make you pay duty if they think you have purchased it in Can...

Re: Crossbows across the border

When you cross you can request a customs sticker for your bow, that way they can't try to ding you as though you purchased the bow on your trip. Hmmm...not sure if I want a sticker on my bow...how big of a sticker? It's not big, and wont leave a mess when you get home and take it off. I think Vixch...
