If you have decided to dump your 'Max, that's your business. The difficulty in drawing it is no real reason, though. Get a crankaroo, or perhaps, a cocking rope. If your concern is to be legal, why not BE SURE YOU ARE ILLEGAL FIRST. Manufacturers have tolerances, and although the bow is RATED at 225...

What is your legal draw weight limit? If you otherwise like the bow (and it does seem to be accurate), why not do an actual test on the draw weight before selling it? You may be surprised to find out that the ACTUAL draw weight is within the legal limit. Especially so if you leave the bow strung for...

You would be taking one heck of a chance to pull out a Xbow to deal with criminals. The Xbow is accurate. However, distance from a target is critical. It could shoot accurately at man sized targets out to 75 yards, but if the target was 90 yards away or 60 yards away, you would be 'way off target. S...

Wayne I started with aluminum bolts, and had a similar experience. I switched to carbons. They seem to be more consistent, although I believe that is just because the person assembling the carbon bolts was more careful and/or used better components. Aluminum bolts don't have to be inaccurate, and I ...

If you haven't already bought a level for mounting on your bow, hold off for a moment. Take a piece of paper and draw a bull on it. Tape the paper onto the front of your target. Take a regular carpenter's level and a felt marker. Draw a line in heavy ink through the bull, making sure the line is lev...

It could be a variety, or, a combination of things. I'd be inclined to start with checking the bolts, though. I used a felt marker and numbered each bolt and charted where each one struck the target. Very quickly I discovered that a number of my aluminum bolts were crap. The inserts were not aligned...

................................................ I don't mean to judge others and start crap, I'm just trying to think whats best for a clean kill. A clean kill should be eveyone's goal, that's for sure. We can express ourselves in respectfull disagreement, which I guess is exactly what we have don...

Why wouldn't a 3 foot lane be adequate? I assume that the deer is not walking. I know it takes some distance for an arrow to stop fish tailing if you are long bow hunting, but even so, that's more than enough to clear either side of the lane if the game is centered. With a short Xbow bolt (and if yo...

My guess is that you have a parent and litter making a fuss. You know how noisy teenagers can be....sounds like dozens of folks when it's only a couple. Game hear it all the time and won't be especially bothered, normally. I expect they are mainly making noise to announce their territory. If they we...
