Grunt calls are great
I've not been on for sometime, but thought I might share my latest hunt. Bought a muzzle loader this fall and grunted an 8 pointer from about 400 yds away to within 50 yards for a nice clean 1 shot kill. Could'nt believe how he came to that grunt call (all open field). Got a huge 8 pointer during rifle season (200 lbs with big wide rack). None with the Vixen this fall, though I still have a tag left, but have all the venison I need for this year.A great year for hunting, can't wait until next fall. Hope everyone else is having success. The biggest thrill is still harvesting a deer with the crossbow though!

It took me about 20 minutes to get his attention, wind was blowing and 50 turkeys were between us. During a real quite few seconds he finally heard me and started to run my way. I think I grunted 3 or 4 at a time, stopping when he was approx. 75 yds away. At 50 yds he turned broadside and I shot. I'm no expert on calling, but this buck didn't seem to care. I probably grunted 20 times after he started my way.Partikle wrote:Hey Congrats,
Tending grunts or regular buck grunts? How many times did you grunt to bring him in?
