Deerhide Exocet (want to paint)

Post by Butt »

Just wanting to know if anybody has painted the deerhide brown stocks and limbs? If so what kind of paint are you using and will it wear off? I painted a Vixen last year with Krylon and put 4 coats on , after that I put 3 coats of clear coat on and found it was wearing off in spots.

Any suggestions? "Butt"

I used the Krylon paint on mine as well. So far it has held up pretty good. There are some spots where the paint has rubbed off, but that is after three seasons of hunting. After you apply your camo paint add a coat or two of matte, clear acrylic. This will help keep the paint on your bow. You may want to use a primer as well.

Even a factory camo job will fade/wear with use.
