Martin fletching jig

Post by Boo »

Does anyone use a Martin Fletching jig? I cannot figure out how to index the bolt. I checked Martin's site and do not see any thing that would accomodate a shaft without a nock.

Glue an arrow nock on a field point.

I am not totally up with this fletcher, but I believe that it is like most others that require a knock. Take a target point and glut a knock onto it then screw it into the the back end of the arrow. After fletching, just remove the target point and your ready to go.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for our prompt replies guys. Now that seems too simple! Any suggestions for vanes and offset?

4 degree with 5" fletch and you can go up to 7 degree tops with the 4" fletch.

Good Luck

Hey Boo,

No, I haven't but a few of the guys on here have and by the sounds of it they seem to like them. Maybe I'll give them a try in the future if I could find some.

As the posts above mention, glue one field point inside one nock, and screen it on your bolts.

About the quality of martin fletching jig, I am using one, but I don't like it.
Take a little more money and buy one better, like the Bitzenburger jig. I am having problems with the martin on the space between the vanes. The martin jig are not putting the same space between the vanes. Its a pain to fletching a perfect way.
