Is this for real?
Bob Vandrish.
Yes it was for real!!!!!
I bought 2 from the guy on ebay from toronto. They were 395$ canadian each and I got him down to 750$ can for 2 with shipping. Then while completing the transaction he gave me a price of 644$ so I sent him 644$. But he finally emailed me back and said he made a mistake in the price but to only send him another 75.00$. To make a long story short I bought 2 Exocet 200 beand new still in the box for 719.00$ on Sunday and the arrived today March 22, 2006 in , Ontario. What a DEAL!!!!
This situation is getting stranger and unbelieveable as time goes on. I don't know what to think. It just doesn't make sense. I wonder if it's not just a sting. The bows are sold, only to have some one knock on your door in a week or two stating that they're conducting an investigating into stolen goods, and confiscate the bows as evidence, and say consider yourself fortunate, that you as a buyer are not going to be charged as an accessory after the fact.
Sound far-fetched? Not any more than being able to buy these bow for well below retail. For those of you who bought, I hope this isn't going to be the case. However, don't be surprised if it is.

Congrats to those who got a good deal. I won't call them unethical and I won't assume the bows are stolen just because the price is good. I don't know why the price is so good but none of the members bought them out of the back of a truck. BTW if this guy is a criminal he sure does follow through with what he says as not one person on here has been done wrong by him. Its not up to me to judge and call someone unethical or someone else a criminal simply because the bow is being sold below market value.
I agree with Shakky's statement. Unfortantly some business's go out of business for some reason or another. The people that are owed the money do not care how much they get for the stock as long as it covers what they are owed. It is also known that banks or other places that liquidate these items will not deal with guns or weapons therefore they dish them off to others that will. IF I was a betting man, this is what I would be betting on.Shakky wrote:Congrats to those who got a good deal. I just wished that I had the contacts with these places so it would be me liquidating these items for them.

I was told that when Gagnons Sports opened back up in December, there were some really cheap pump shotguns ($80 cheap). They had water or smoke damage from the earlier fire and the insurance company told them to get rid of them for whatever price they could.
Like Tom said, you never know why someone comes into a bunch of stuff for an unbeleivable price.

I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!
I never stated that they were "hot" items, but rather that it is strange that these "new in the box" items were sold at below cost. I too hope that the sales are legit, and congratulate the buyers if they are.

Is this for real?
My posts are in this series of replies, and I was one of those who did get one of these items.
What I have been able to find out is that most of the larger sellers on ebay are linked up with what is called "Drop Ship" companies, who apparently buy out a business for various reasons, and then these items are offered to ebay sellers,at usually better than market prices, and sometimes below cost.
I mentioned earlier that I had been burned by a seller who never had the item, and she was scammed of her money,as they have to put it up front before these "drop ship" companies will ship the goods, usually direct to the buyer.
That can be one of the risks on ebay.
If you are an "ebayer",take a look at "scoobygoodboy",a seller whose name came up on here several times last year for selling lowball Excaliburs of all types.
At the bottom of his page,he explains the whole concept of how this works, very well!
That for sure,is my last two cents on this subject!!
