OT...Mushrooms are out

Post by PRB »

The wife and I and our two boys went mushroom hunting today and found close to 20 mushrooms (Morel mushrooms). We really had a great time.

Also on the way walking back after crossing a creek our oldest son discovered a complete deer skeleton. He was tickled to death with his find and we was happy for him. I tore the head away from the rest of the spine and hung it out so the bugs could do theyre work because it still stinks to high heaven.

The wife is frying those mushrooms up right now :D :D :D
We might find some more mushrooms tomorrow but probably need more rain and more hot sunshine. Anyway we had a great day 8)

The wife and I did a lot of mushroom research last year, because while out turkey hunting I would see folks coming out of the woods with buckets full. I picked a few so we could ID them, but then we chickened out and didn't eat them.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

The woods are still snow covered in Alexandria (Ontario), no mushrooms, but we still have fresh deer tracks.
