Censorship/beep?

Have I missed something? Are we now censoring what we write or is it being done for us? And was there a reason why this started? Just curious.

Looks like it's become a family forum for roadrunners!
Wasn't sure what was going on, but I see that many words which could have two meanings are taken for the undesirable meaning and replaced with beep when we post.
Looks like my male bird & female cat just became roadrunners!

As an administrator of another hunting board I KNOW that no one catch watch and read every word posted.

There are 6 of us moderating my board (which is a LOT smaller) than this one and we would still miss some words from time to time.

I know that Dude and Bill can not keep up with every post that is posted, so they need help with a computer program that will catch words that shouldn't be used.

The censored words program is put into place to automatically replace a censored word with any other word that the adminstrator chooses.

In this case it looks like the Dude chose BEEP.

Now c-o-c-k has a double meaning, (as do a lot of other words) and I'm not sure how we can not talk about c-o-c-k-i-n-g our crossbws on a crossbow forum.

Call it censorship or whatever, but I see it as a necessity that we can all live with.

IMHO....

I can live with it as well. I have considered this a "Family Oriented Forum",
Meaning all family members can read and not be subjected to things or words they needn't be. Trash talk is for the Woods and Camp.

I agree, Chris.

There was just way too much of that junk being posted on this board lately.

Not something for some of the members kids that do visit this forum.

That said, The french forum has got some beep sites that should be cleaned up there too.
