A noob question....

Post by Allan.L »

ok, this is a pretty noobish question, but cocking a 200# Xbow would be like lifting 200lbs?

Not sure. My Exocet has a 175lb draw weight. :D

I would think the answer is no. More effort would be required the closer you get to locking the string in(full draw). If you use the rope co.cking aid, the effort required is substantially less.

ok, i was just wondering. 200lbs isnt very heavy, but pulling it/picking it up 100 times in a plinking session would be kind of strenuous.

Crossbow Draw Weight

Post by TNXBow »

I just purchased an Exomax with a 225 lb draw weight a couple of months ago. Also purchased a rope cocking aid. I am able to pull back the string without the cocking aid and it does not compare to lifting 225 lbs of dead weight. I normally use the rope cocking aid and it is no problem.
