Looking To Buy new GPS

Post by Farmer »

I am looking to replace my old Magellan GPS. Would like a color screen, and road/topo maps. The easier to use the better. I use my old unit for hunting / ice fishing / trail riding.

Let me know what units that you are using and what you like /dislike about them.

Thanks /Farmer

I run the Lowarance Ifinder H20. With the topo/road map chip in it. I'm very happy wqith my unit and you can get it in color for around the 250 mark. Its easy to use and can be exposed to all elements with no worries. It chews batteries quick but works great.

I use the Garmin Etrex Vista for work. I don't have the color version but the unit is very user friendly and has only failed me one time. (Heavy cloud and tree cover) I highly recommend the Garmin GPS units. They've got me sold.

The sales man told me the color feature eats batterys and is just for looks ofcourse..
I have a meridian platnium magellan and I love it..I always mark wher i park and then go into the woods for the day...One eve my flash light went out bulb busted..It was really a dark night cloudy and no stars..I hit the backtrack fuction and 30 min later I popped out of the woods and ran right into my truck..just follow the line and I was there...

youll love it when you get it..what ever you get they are great..
