Best Method for Sharpening Broadhead Blades Still on Arrow

Post by mkgeorgetown »

What is the best tool/method of sharpening blades of brodheads (especially ones with the trocar tip like a Wasp, it seems it is hard to get to the whole blade due to the shape) while the broadhead is still on the arrow? The reason I ask is once I get the head and arrow shooting nice and straight I don't want to take it apart to sharpen or replace blades as it may change the arrow impact. Thanks!!

I have been using 3 blade Montec's and use this one

one of these would work well for the trocar tip blades

If they aren't too dull a diamond "steel" works fairly well. I have a small steel that came with a Buck diamond stone. About 4 inches long and tapered to a point.
