first deer w/ crossbow

Post by scottr »

Well I'm new to crossbow hunting this year. I bought an exocet 2 weeks before bow season opened here Oct. 1st in southeastern ontario. My first morning out I had a doe and fawn about 15-20 yards broadside a let them go being it was only the first day (I seen 7 deer opening day, no bucks). My 3rd hunt different location, just 10min. walk from my back door to the treestand, I had a nice doe come out 20 yards broadside @ 7:15am and I took her. She ran 40 yards and fell over sideways, she was stone dead in less than 1 min. , double lunged her. I was amazed how deadly crossbows are with good shot placement. I was using 2117's with 100gr. wasp boss broadhead. I got meat in the freezer and now I can concentrate on a big buck.
