WILDWINDOM I have a CVA hunterbolt 150 and have had it for many years. It is still as accurate today as it was when I got it. It was a started gun (muzzleloader) for me so I did not want to pay too much incase I did not like it. I would recomend CVA to anyone, I have not had any problems with my gun other then the sighting system that comes with the gun. I quickly went to a different sight. For accuracy, I have 4 different loads (180gr sabot, 240gr sabot, 245 & 295gr power belts) and groups of 4-5 inches at 150 yards.

Sometimes I feel the name of the gun only adds extra unwanted expense to it for no reason.

Good luck.

I won a cva a couple of years back and have had nothing but good things to say about it . It`s a cva optima along the same lines as the elite , it shoots 2-3 inch circles at 100 yds. But as said you must take care of it and learn its quirks , mine does not like a cold previously oiled barrel . The only one complaining this year was the two bucks shot during the shotgun/muzzleloader season .

I've had a CVA Optima Pro .50 for a few years now. It handles 150gr of Triple-7 great and shoots very accurate at the same time. I can keep it in a 3" circle at 100 yards even with the heavy load. It hits hard.

I also have a very old side-hammer CVA Mountaineer. It is cheap (<$100) and basic, but also works great with round balls.

The only ML that I wouldn't recommend is the cheaper ones from Traditions. I've only owned one of those (Lightning) and it was a major disappointment.

The Optima Pro from CVA is one of the best fitting, best feeling guns that I've handled. I liked mine so much I bought my kids an Optima (not Pro) for this season and they each killed a deer with it.

CVA=good.

When you open the website,you clearly see the picture of the barrel on the gun and the two spare barrels,but it does not make any reference to the rifle barrel in the specifications below.
When you look under Elite barrels,you will see that the rifle barrel is chambered for a .308 shell.
Looks like one heck of a weapon!

I'm either going to get one of these, or a Remington shotgun combo.
