exomax question

Post by hock »

Ok ok, i read just about all everybody has said about the exomax. I am buying a new exomax and dont want to get the package with the bolts and heads if they arnt the best with he exomax. There must be a bolt head combo that works the best with the exomax. I have read that the Beman Thunderhead and the Wasp 125 work well. Is this the best combo? I dont meen just for speed, but all around. I am just trying to save $ and bye the right package. Yous guys seem to have tryed everything out there so i thought i would ask the pros. Thanks Hock

Hey, Hock ...

Take it for what it's worth, but I think you'll be just fine with the Right Stuff package. I bought it along with an Exomax this summer, and have been entirely satisfied. The supplied bolts and broadheads have proven to be incredibly accurate for me, and have sailed through deer like a hot butterknife though Parkay ... and kept on trucking!

If you ask what the "best" bolt/broadhead combo is, you're likely to get as many opinions as the people who answer you.

I'll say this: I imagine Bill and company know what works with their bows, and doubt that they'd send out the "wrong stuff" in the Right Stuff package.

When you read opinions, remember that lots of people are simply equipment junkies and tweakers who aren't ever satisfied with their setup. Convinced that they can always find some magic combination of components that will somehow increase their odds, they put more time into trying out various new accessories than they do in getting familiar with one combination that works ... and they're always beside themselves with excitement and enthusiasm when they think they're on to something. Just ask. They'll tell you!

Nothing wrong with that, mind you. It's just a personality trait.

Ask all you want, and do what you want ... but I don't think you'll go wrong with the Right Stuff ... if it's what you want. As an archer of long experience, I've found it to be perfectly adequate for my needs.

Good luck!

I bought the varizone package and the arrows that come with it (laser II´s) worked very well with my exomaX, any point.

But now I am using the beman thunderbolts. A little cheaper and more tough to break.

I bought the Right Stuff package and I've subsequently purchased another 6 of the same arrows for my Exomax. No complaints here and those arrows and heads did quite a number on the one buck I shot this year.

Right Stuff Package

I bought my RSP from Dan Miller. Laser GT11's with brass inserts, and 100 gr.Wasp Bullets.

They fly great from my Max, and the 8 deer they have taken don't know what hit them. Still using the same bolt for all the kills, just changing blades on the wasp.

Hock what Grizz said above could not have been said better.

Also I know and understand that there is a great tendency to disbelieve companies (in their advertisements) and expect them to pawn off less then the best stuff in package deals (just to get rid of them and make more money), but Excalibur is exactly what they claim in their advertisements We are hunters that make crossbows. They are straight forward and make a great product and will not knowenly steer you wrong.

I have ben using an excalibur bow (the Relayer) for over 23 years and have tried different arrow head combos but have gone back to the excalibur arrow. As Grizz said, arrow/head selections will vary amounst almost everyone. The great thing you will find is that any excalibur bow will shoot almost any head accurately. If I was starting out and wanted to save money, I would go with the Right Stuff Package. Even if money did not matter, I believe that I would still go with that package.

Good luck and enjoy.

First off, welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place.
I feel that the right stuff package will kill any game animal right out of the box.
I changed the broadheads on my setup because I am a tinkerer and a gadjet man but I still have the heads that came with the package and am sure they will kill just as dead as any other when properly sighted in and using common sense on shot placement.

Excalibur makes the best equipment in the world I.M.H.O. and they have selected the best accessories to go with it.
Stick with the package,as the name says.
It's" The Right Stuff "
