repairing broken nocks

I was shooting yesterday to demonstrate to my buddy how accurate the new Exocet can be. Well at 45 yards I shot one bolt into the back of another.

These are Ten Point Pro ELite bolts with Ten Point's little plastic yellow nock. The nock broke when I hit it and it appears that it deflected the 2nd bolt.

The nock is broke but the shaft seems fine....but there are some remains of the broken nock inside the shaft. Is there any way to remove and replace the broken nock without damaging the shaft ?

I've screwed up a couple of bolts doing the same.

Since the nock is broken, I suppose the only way would be to try to use a drill/dremel tool to ream it out. Just be sure to use the correct size bit/rasp, and be careful.

Heat up a wood screw with a torch and screw it into the nock. Let it cool and pull it out with pliers.

screw out the pointed end and blow compressed air through it and be sure to test the shaft for straightness. my .02 worth

well I tried drilling a pilot hole and running a screw into it....

it didnt work...atleast I couldnt pull the nock out with pliers. I think the screw was actually expanding the nock and making it an even tighter fit.

I did manage to keep using slightly larger and larger drill bits until only a thin layer of the yellow nock remained....which promptly broke loose from the inside of the shaft and pulled out.

Doesnt look to be any damage to the shaft

especially since I currently only own 4 bolts
