The forum wouldn't be the same without you Wabi. Hope to see you reach 8000!

Looked back in the archives and the first post was Oct. 9,2002 - but this forum was a replacement for an older forum that was dropped because of server problems as I recall. I had been active on it for some time before this one was started, so I have no I dea of when I found the Excalibur forums???? A lot of the current members were vererans when I started shooting Excaliburs and found the forum.
As I recall I had about given up on crossbows as being useful for hunting as most I had tried were not very accurate or dependable. I saw a TV show with some guy from Canada and his wife hunting with recurve crossbows he had designed and manufactured. I did an internet search and found Excalibur's site, so I visited the forum. The guys like Woody, Gary L., and Digger sounded so happy with their Excaliburs I decided to look at one. I had my local pro-shop order one in (they are a dealer, but don't stock many crossbows) so I could see and shoot it. A few shots and I was writing a check! That's been several years ago now, but I haven't stopped being amazed with Excalibur's accuracy and dependability at a very reasonable price! Many deer have passed through my freezer thanks to Excalibur's qualty.
Just this past fall I had a chance to convert a good friend and Horton user. He had great accuracy with field points, but broadheads were another story. He happened along one evening when I was getting ready for deer season and was shooting field tips and Montec broadheads at my target. He had never shot my Phoenix, so I let him try a few shots. (of course I would shoot then pull the arrow before shooting again  ). After he put his first three shots with the montecs at 25 yards in the same hole in the target he simply said: "I have to have one of them!"
He now owns a Phoenix, too.

Mike, I bet you were glad you looked at the Excal models. :D

I'm glad you stuck with them.

Thanks also to GaryL, Digger and Woody for helping convince you.
