It's definitly a unique idea, but Sure would make things a little more clumbersome. How would it stay mounted in a case?

It looks like it would come off fairly easily by using that thumb screw under it.. I make more mistakes with noise trying to get at my rangefinder than I care to admit, this would indubitably solve that for me..

I wonder if groundpounders mount would interfer with the rangefinder,they seem to be at the same level.I find that if I need to range a shot at a deer I havnt properly prepared and noy done my homework.The range finder works great on a crooked horn binocular strap.
