These days it seems like the best way to find out is to take it into the backyard and dry fire it.. If it hardly fits it is Excel, If it does fit and just makes a "fwaap" sound it is Dacron, if Mag-tips launch in two different directions it is FFF.

Looks like Dacron to me. Is the string brown or black? If it's brown, it's dacron.

I vote dacron. Is this a test?

the one on the left is black and gray,i counted 26 strands
the one on the right is black with a gold serving and tied with light green in the loops ,and i counted 28 strands,this string is double in diamater from the black and gray

The both look thick and the one on the right looks like a Dacron string that came with my old carved limbed Exocet.
