Too early for Tinks 69 in E Ont.?
Too early for Tinks 69 in E Ont.?
I was just wondering what you guys think about using tinks 69 this early in East Ont. I have yet to see a deer this year, I have heard them rubbing trrees withins 150 yds but cannot get them to come out and show themselves. I am thinking if I use some lure maybe they will. My hunting partner has seen a doe and fawn but also had 3 bucks rubbing in the bush but will not come out. Any advice would be great.
Before climbing into my stand, I lay a Tinks 69 drag in an arc 30 yards wide in front of my stand where I want to shoot. If a buck gets close to your stand, he'll intercept it and likely follow it slowly, nose down giving me a chance to kill him as I did with a nice buck last year. Makes the difference between a buck that was NEAR your shooting lane(s) but walked off, and a dead deer.
Once I enter the woods, I drag T69 all the way to my stand on the upwind side. I then hang the drag as a scent bomb.
At this point until does start dripping, it's a combination curiosity, excitement lure.
Trophy buck Lure from Tinks is the best one to use right now until the rut kicks in IMHO.
