One for Backstraps and Butter and some pics.

Post by chris4570 »

Ecoaster and I have the week off and have been putting in some quality hunting time. It's great to be outdoors!!!

Here are some pics leading up to and including today.

Ecoaster hunting the hard way....with his Exocet cocked and no arrow.

Good to see, wrong season. We will meet again in the spring  !!
Image

A nice big doe. She had a couple youngins with her. The three of them stuck around for 15 minutes.
Image

The youngins.
Image

One of them got the smart gene.
Image

About an hour after the threesome left this guy showed himself but wouldn't come any closer than 60 yards. Looks like he might have a third antler growing.
Image

Image

Found! This is my arrow from last year, after passing through a doe and landing in some water.
Image

The 125gr Muzzy still in good shape, and sharp!
Image

Now that I know how to do this I will try and get a pic with a deer in the crosshairs, unless it's a big buck then I will have to shoot him with an arrow first!
Image

Ecoaster coming down to give some assistance.
Image

I saw this guy twice. Thge first time he was walking towards my stand then turned away. The second time I was in the middle of peeing in a bottle, and he was following the Tinks 69 in. I had just enough time to finish, put the lid on the bottle and put the bottle down. Can you say full monty. That's what this guy got just before he got a Muzzy.
Image

That's what friends are for!! Hauling your deer out!! Thanks buddy!!! I hope you call me tomorrow with a need for some assistance!!

Why wheels were made.

Will be back out again for a big boy.

Kenton this can be scored as a doe for Backstraps and Butter. Thanks.

Great shots Chris. Love the one of the fawn eye ballin you :D . If you insist of getting a "big boy" just drop him at the edge of the wet stuff  . I don't want to haul something bigger than me through the muck  . It was a good day all around.

That's funny seeing the deer when taking a leek and still getting the kill shot in.
Congratulation Chris!!!!
Maybe you could lend ecoaster a bolt, I hear the xbows work better when loaded.
