just seeing how many fletch their arrows with a right or left offset. I usually do a 2-3 degree right offset with my blazer vanes. But I tried a 2-3 degree left offset on some new arrows today and they still shoot great.
Im guessing it doesnt matter if its right or left, just as long as you fletch all 3 the same LOL.
Anyone else try a left offset? 2-3 degrees isnt much, but it does seem to help after 30 yards.
here are the pics of a few I did today.. 2 arrows have 2 green and 1 white blazer while the other 3 have 2 red and 1 white. I would have done all 3 blazers the same color, but I like knowing I load the bolt the same on every shot
all weigh 375grains with bhead(I like speed) These were GT2 shafts also
I read somewhere that you should set a right or left offset depending on which way your points/broadheads screw into the insert so that they don't loosen on impact ! makes sense that if your point screws in a clockwise direction then your arrows/bolts should spin in the same direction.

Anyone know how the length of the vanes/feathers affects the amount of spin? Is 4 degree off-set spinning the arrow at the same speed whether it has 2" vanes or 5" vanes? How about the noise factor? For some reason, it seems to me the noise and the speed of the spin would be less with a shorter vane. Another part of me is thinking there is no difference.

I agree with cossack,
I use 1.5 blazers with a 3 degree offset & followed Matthias72 instructions to cut down the nock from 27grn to 13grn to increase FOC & fitted special weighted inserts he makes, again to increase FOC.
The result is that my XX78 2219 super slams have a FOC 20% & now fly much flatter trajectory,
virtually no noise in flight, ( my dad stood near the target to confirm thanks pops )
no big difference in point of impact from good to bad weather conditons,
3 inch groups & less target shooting with nap nitrons 125grn out to 100yrds.

If you actually tighten the tip or broadhead it won't make any difference.

OK, I'm sold. I can get those arrows even quieter by putting my Dad out there. I can get them a little quieter still by putting my Grandfather out there to confirm.
I never did understand why the nocks were as long or as heavy as they are . . .Matthias72 is on the cutting edge. Everyone should visit his website at least once a month.

Well . . .either works. I have a 4 degree straight and a RH helical. However, I traded emails with the tech dept at Bohning and he prefers the RH helical on the 2" blazers. I wish I had kept the email and posted the reply, but, it's gone. Anyway, he stated that you can only get an effective 2-3 degrees of actual off-set on the shorter vanes because of their length. However, for longer shots, the excessive spin hurts your tajectory anyway. I didn't understand everything he was saying, but, he told me to go with RH helical with the smaller vanes.
