Week-end at the huntcamp

Post by TPM »

Spent this past week-end doing some work at my huntcamp with a couple of buddies. Got some much needed trail clearing done and some fire wood for the woodstove cut. Also got some more isulation work done on the cabin (the older I get the colder November seems to get  ).
We did manage to find some time to chase after some grouse. Only got one flush (and a miss) myself but my buddy managed five flushes and got two birds.

One of the guys I had along is an amazing cook. For dinner Saturday night he did ribs slow cooked over the fire, butterflied back strap venison steaks wrapped in bacon, home made brushetta bread and fried mushrooms. My mouth waters just thinking about it!

Anyway, we'll be back up in a few weeks for rifle deer season. Can't wait! :D

Congrats on yourgrouse TPM, those back straps sure look good.

I went on the weekend to our property and shot 5 beautiful Ruffled Grouse myself. Brought 2 of them to work last night, and fried them up, very delicious.

Heading out up north on Tuesday next week, for a 3 day hunt for Ruffies, can't wait.

Ruffled Grouse hunting is one of my favorite hunts.
