First Xbow Buck

Post by brokebow »

I shot my first Xbow buck, Just a 7 pointer, nothing to really brag on ,but it was one of the picture perfect time that I ever had hunting,I heard russling on the hill to my left, behind me,took out my doe in a can and did 3 bleeps and here he came, down the hill and up the other side about 18 yards to my left ,going to the 35mm film canaster that I put doe urine in and hung it from the limb of a tree about 6 foot off the ground. He walked up to it and stood perfectly broadside, needless to say my grimreeper broadhead did its job very well. He went up the path, right up to the fence with in 35 yards of the pickup truck and expired . Now I have had some good luck in my day, but this is just about as good as it gets. I hope that everyone has one of these days like I did. Jerry

Jerry, congrats on a fine hunt. Very cool when everything comes together like that.

How far did he travel after the hit? You are the first forum member to report use of the grimreapers. Is that a two blade? I know some other members here use them.

Again, congratulations . . .calling the bucks into your set-up is the best. Then when they head to the truck after they are hit . . .that's real cool. 8)

congrats on the buck brokebow . And sumner to answer your question about the grim reapers they work very well but i think you would want a brass insert for more forward weight i used brass inserts when i shot them a few years ago with a 20" bolt. They do a nice job and they are a 3 blade mechanical with no orings
