I do not understand why the Equinox would be easier to cock than the Exomax? They both have the same draw length and draw weight. The Exomax is a little longer so it only makes sense that the stock is shorter on the Equinox. How does a shorter stock aid in the cocking of the bow? Does not make sense to me.

where did you get that info btw?
both have a 16.5 power stroke so the strings only gonna move the same distance on both, thus ones not gonan be easier than the other.
if there was a difference, I doubt you would even notice it. Meaning, I couldnt tell the difference between 225 and 210 LOL
longer stock isnt gonna effect anything either... you arent cocking the stock

I agree with you but read the equinox section in the catalog. It states it is easier to cock and steadier to hold. Simple physics tells me it should cock the same.

My friend has a phoenix, and when cocking my exomax the first thing he said was how the stock got in the way, no you don't cock the stock but it not being in the way (shorter) would make it easier. My .02 anyway

Well, it could make sense ... if they're talking about the short stock being easier to lean over and not getting in the way of beer guts ... which is a problem with the longer models.DForester wrote: It states it is easier to cock and steadier to hold.
And if they are talking about cocking it with your hands, and the butt against your chest ... as can be done with crossbows ... in that case, the shorter stock would be an advantage ... but I can't imagine anyone cocking a 225 lb. crossbow that way, though!

its steadier to hold since it has a thumbhole stockDForester wrote:I agree with you but read the equinox section in the catalog. It states it is easier to cock and steadier to hold. Simple physics tells me it should cock the same.

Ive never noticed the stock getting in my way on any of the bows.. Ive owned the exocet 200 and the equinox now. Used a rope cocker on both and never noticed the stock cocking for either.
also, marketing has some play in this also

to me a 225pound draw is going to be a 225draw no matter what. Some days it feels like a 150pound bow and others it feels like 250 pounds LOL
but if the shorter stock helps, then great

I think it might be a problem for short people, though, Crazy ... especially short, fat people. And of course, if you have to bend out over the stock to cock a bow, then that would make it much harder.crazyfarmer wrote:Ive never noticed the stock getting in my way on any of the bows.. stock
that is what thy are talking about .the shorter stock is easyer to work around when cocking the bow by hand and it is a littel easyer to get the rope on as well DUTCH ps us big guys never had this problem but i have watched a few short guys have a hard time reac hing the string

Don't know about y'all but I put the stock alongside my right side when cocking, not lean over it. Thus it basically does not matter low long it is (we're talking about just inch different, right?). Did have the Equinox for a while, tho; nothing easy to cock about that brute. Thank God for the Vortex and Phoenix I play with..
