Excalibur Accuracy

Post by Michihunter »

After obtaining a new Exomax and shooting it in my basement I was impressed with the accuracy at almost 20 yds. Well this weekend my wife and I traveled upnorth to our cottage. There I was able to shoot at longer distances. I set up a paper plate with a black circle in the middle which I traced around a nickle for the size, about 3/4 of an inch. Stuck the plate on my bow block and measured off 32 yds to the front porch of the cabin. Now I previously cut down three of my bow arrows (2315's) to 20 inches added Blazers and a 100 grain field tip as I am still trying to decide on aluminum or carbon arrows. Took a rest and squeezed off a shot, I was 4 inchs low but dead center. Adjusted the scope took another shot and put it almost dead center in the nickle sized bulls eye. I thought "that was just luck" Loaded up and shot at the bulls eye again and hit the other arrow knocking some of the Blazers off. One arrow left. Took aim and buried it tight against the other two taking a Blazer off of it as well. This group was approx 1/2 inch at 32 yds. To say I am impressed is an understatement. I used to shoot competetion on several rifle teams using high priced rifles. But to get groups like this with a crossbow is amazing. I can tell anyone looking at purchasing a crossbow that the Excal's are simply amazing when it comes to power and accuracy. I'm very pleased with mine. Thanks

I have similar results from my Exocet. These bows are absolutely amazing and a blast to shoot too :D
I also own a 2007 Ten Point Pro Slider. That bow is no slouch either but....... well you know. My Exocet is still my favorite!

:D  Yes Excaliburs are very accurate. I always aim at a different target, unless I remove the first arrow. I was astounded that the bows can shoot so well. I've learned on this forum and from my own tests, Excalibur means accuracy. :D

I was removing the arrow after each shot when I was shooting in the basement but it was a shorter distance and no wind and I had a good solid rest. I just figured a one to two inch or so group at 32 yds would be fine with me. Didn't expect a group that tight especially since I was using some old aluminum 2315 arrows and a rest (back of a chair) that was a little unsteady.

They are SO nice!
The only thing left for me to do is test the Boltcutter broadheads.
If they fly true, I won't look for another.
150gr tips and 150gr broadheads if things go as planned.
...but Excaliber already took care of the broadhead issue, too?
They say they are very accurate!! :D

I was shooting my Phoenix and fast compound the other day, and noticed that the Excal was more accurate (at 50 yards). Didn't want to admit the obvious because I WANTED the compound to win. It's my HUNTING bow and the Phoenix is my 'fun bow.' Oh well.......there just may be a change.

Doesn't seem to matter which excal you have. They all shoot to the same hole. This crossbow teaches the shooter. No fancy gizzmos with the Excal.

these bows are very accurate when in the right hands... accuracy is only as good as the shooter :D :D

I still shoot my compound better when shooting them both standing out to 30 yards. I shoot the xbow deadly from a rest and from 30-50 yards when compared to the compound. I still love both bows and each has their place in archery :D

They get better with age . . .keep shooting, you'll get the hang of it. :? :D
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
