The Misses and I can finally get a good nights sleep. Our Son [Corey] is out of Afghanistan and will be home Sunday As most of you know he received a Purple Heart in Iraq {One of the worst years in our marriage} In the past 5 years he has been in a War Zone half that time. We have noticed a big difference and change in our Sons Personality since his entering the Army as an M.P. He is leaveing the Army in September for good and we are both so very GLAD. Thank You all for listening to a Father who is rambling on.
That great to hear, my son heads to Afganistan in November as a Corpsman (medic) for the 2nd Marine Division. It's gonna be a lot of sleepless nights for the wife and I. Tell him were all proud of his service.
I am glad to hear your son is coming home, I thank your son for his service to our country, and I thank you for being the support system for your soldier son, I too have recently returned from afghanistan, so I know how good it will be for him to be home. God bless you all.
Great news. I'm so happy for you. He's not likely the same person e was when he left. Give him some space to "come down" if need be. I also found out that some folks tend to be fascinated by the gory aspects of war and assumed I would entertain them by filling in those details. Don't be surprised if he just smiles and changes the subject when it gets to close to home.
I couldn't imagine letting my son go. It's bad enough having friends who go.
