Trigger Adjustment

Hey Folks..

Is there an adjustment I can make on the trigger of my 2008 Excalibur Phoenix. I have started to notice it feels like the trigger gets increasingly difficult to squeeze just prior to the shot going off.. It seems to be rather smooth up to a point and then it feels like it "binds up" or something, It FIRES EVERYTIME I would just like a smoother feeling trigger.

Also, has anyone tried the new cheek pieces for the Excaliburs?? I am considering getting one..

As far as i know there is no adjustment for the trigger, maybe over time it will smooth it self out. As for the cheek piece its a welcome addition as far as i am concerned.

I am not expert in this area but I had a somewhat similiar issue with my Vortex when it was new. The trigger "problem" worked itself out after a couple of hundred shots. Reason I felt it was a problem was that I owned a phoenix and I felt its trigger was better than any rifle I ever owned. I then got the vortex and something just did not feel right but after shooting it for awhile the trigger became acceptable. I still feel that my phoenix's trigger is more responsive to my touch but now the vortex's trigger functions pretty well. hopefully you may get some more input from other members.

Lots of shooting will work it out, probably best not to mess with the trigger. My Exocet has launched thousands of arrows, the trigger is one of my favourites now, it was pretty still in the beginning though.

I took the ones on my Phoenix and Vortex apart and gently stoned the casting marks and articulating surfaces. Made a big difference. Do not advise doing so unless you know how to work triggers. (I did my own trigger work on multiple guns). Do suggest you spray some Teflon lube into the trigger housing. That helps too.

I REALLY appreciate your input and suggestions. Due to time restraints and a BUSY schedule, I DO NOT get to shoot my Phoenix that much. I suppose it could be "not broke in yet"... I just DON'T like the feel of the trigger when it feels like it gets tighter or binds up. I do have some teflon I can spray on it.. I would NOT attempt to disassemble the trigger system.

If getting to a range is difficult Bud there is another option. I made up a small braided bungee that attached to the ends of my limbs, looks very similar to the stringing aid. You can cock the bow without bending the limbs and trigger pull all day long, it helps break it in as well as giving a decent feel for it's breaking point.
Just something to think about.

Bud, douche it w/ 'Tri-Flow' after taking the stock off to get at it. They seem to shoot in.
