Thats close but your years are off Aaron. In 2007 he was the 52nd different buck I had identified from trail cam pics thoughout the previous years. we weren't able to say he was the same buck until you got good pics in hard antler that winter. Then, going back His picture in 2006 (2.5yrs) was the 52nd picture of a buck I had got.FredBear wrote:He managed to be the 52 buck we got a picture of in 2005, and 2006. So he became buck 52.crazyfarmer wrote:just curious, why the 52 name? certain hunting zone name?
We both have never seen a buck become less non-typical. Last year he surely would have been scored non-typical because of the big forking G-2s. This year he has just one smaller fork and only a few smaller abnormal points. I guess I always figured he would keep the forks and keep adding kickers but this is as clean as he has been in 3 years.
He should put up about close to 50 inches in mass. Last year his Left H-3 was 5.5 inches. I'm hoping all the guess work on his score will be a moot point in the near future.

I think the best part of this buck is the race to get him. I have a pic of him in velvet at 2.5 years and 3.5 years. Fred has pics in hard antler at 3.5, velvet pics at 4.5 and now 5.5 years. I have video of him in early velvet at 4.5 and a chunk of his shed at 4.5. I think we are dead even and its a race to get the final trophy.

I might just let you take Sandy, Johnson, Master P, El Tardo, or even Droopy; and I'll settle for 52. Game on!FredBear wrote:This is the buck i'm going after first! I have a few other bucks i'm watching ,but 52 has a speical spot in my heart.

If he would only play that easy! I've been invited to Jackson county a number of times, but I have never went. Although I know it's a great area for deer.curmudgeon wrote:Thanks for posting. I wish you luck, you will have to learn his every move, night and day. You will have to get in there Very early.
Good Hunting, may you get deer blood on your broad head.
I have hunted lower Jackson County.

I have a hunting strategy!
Get a game cam, take 51 pictures of bucks with it, then hang the camera in the area he frequents and hunt over the camera!

Hope you get a chance to tag him this year, I think we might need him to offset the score for the buck I'll probably shoot.
