Sorry for the late reply, I use luminok, and have had good success with them. The batteries are not replaceable, and last for roughly 40 hours. If you go with luminoks you may have to replace them every other year like I do. Hope this helps

Firenocks are the top lighted nock in the industry.

Brighter than the rest and the battery is field replaceable.

I was speaking with BC a while ago, and will actually be doing a tutorial with pics on how to do it for the Lumenok website as soon as my nocks get here, but here's the basic break-down.

1. Screw a field point into the rear insert.

2.Heat the end of field point carefully with a torch for 5-10 seconds. A torch is important as it applies a lot of heat quickly.

3. Immediately grab the field point with a pair of pliers and start to pull.

4. Because of the mass of the field ppoint, it will transfer heat gradually to the aluminum insert, so by pulling on the point as it gradually transfers heat you are able to pull the insert out at the precise temp. req'd to melt the glue, and avoid damaging the arrow with too much heat.

5. Once the insert is out, carefully clean up the glue residue from the inside of the shaft with either 400 grit sandpaper rolled into a tube, or if you have a set of machinists drill bits you can pick the one that *just* fits inside the shaft and give it a few spins....the key here is to have the inside of the arrow smooth, but without removing any material from the wall of the arrow.

6. Insert the Lumenok fully into the shaft until it lights up, then pull it back out until it *just* shuts off. (Wiggling helps, and his may require some pliers the first time or two)

7.Go shoot something :)
If you can't set a good example, at least serve as a horrible warning.

Don't know which is best (or even good), but I just ordered a Lumenok to try.
